Sad but true. I thought he would look good for a few weeks before his knees gave out but thats just not the case. He's shooting under 30%! Sad way to see him possibly ending his career. He had such a storybook ending with us I wish he'd just stayed retired.

As a huge fan, I hate to see him fall apart like this.

As a Blazer fan, I'm glad to see that giving up on him is incontrovertibly justified.

Agreed. I would like to add:

As a Blazer fan, I'm glad he is hurting our division rival that tried stealing Batum from us and forced us to overpay for his contract.

He had 9 assists last game. His shot isn't falling but he's finding ways to contribute.

Is his second year a team option? Minny lucked out if so.

If it isn't a team option, Minny management should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.

So we're paying Roy $20 million to ruin Minnesota and make rubes cry.

    Worth.

    Every.

    Cent.

That's a great way of looking at it. As much as I hate to see him fail; I get a little smirk that Minny is getting fucked in the process so far.

I have no sympathy, he should have stayed retired, we all have choices

I question wether his "friends" that told him he was still an NBA player had his best intentions in mind. I've seen him twice on league pass and the guy has no fluidity in his movement anymore. It's not just that he's lost a step, but more he looks like the 45 year ol down at the rec center willing his body to move.

I wish the best for him, but it honestly is painful to watch!

I would not be surprised if he's done (hangs it up) before the 1st 1/3 of the season is over

Here's how I think it went down:

Roy took a year off. His knees probably did feel a lot better. He probably was feeling noticeably better on a basketball court because A) he wasn't banging on his knees every day for the past year, and B) wasn't rehabbing from a surgery this time around.

Here's the thing, he's knees would probably be fine if he just wanted to go down to the local gym and shoot around a bit every few days, but that's NOTHING like the rigorous schedule that an NBA player puts his body through. I think Brandon wanted to believe that the prognosis wasn't as bad, and that his knees could hold up, but the doctors weren't lying to him. He doesn't have any meniscus in either knee. His knees can't play an NBA schedule, and he can't compete against the best players in the world anymore.

That's okay though, I think he needed to do this. He needed to know that he was done. He should be able to retire now knowing that he can no longer play the game of basketball. I also hope he calls his doctor friend on the Blazers staff and apologizes for doubting him.

well said, and those PRP shots he has had will certainly help and make you feel better but they "cure" or "grow" nothing when you have no meniscus like Roy, the more he grinds his knees the sooner in life he will need knee replacements

Having Love and Rubio out is also hurting him as he has a lot more responsibility to create/score.

He was expected to play fewer minutes than he is. He might improve if he did so.

Even if he sucks, I don't think he's sad or anything, adding $5 million to his bank account.

He should be coming off the bench playing 15-20min a night. No back to backs! Adelman is gonna' wear him out by XMAS!
