I watched the new Bond movie last night. I liked it. However, I noticed a lot of the audience didn't have an appreciation of the Bonds of the past, most only seem to know the Pierce Brosnan/Daniel Craig. So this thread is to celebrate all things 007. But no spoilers for Skyfall.
http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id...determine-best-james-bond-theme-song-all-time Best theme song: Diamonds are Forever is probably my favorite. Live and Let Die #2. Then Goldfinger.
I was pretty annoyed at some of the people in the theatre. Without spoiling anything, there is a scene where Bond and M walk up to a garage. I whispered to my wife, here comes the _______ _______. After I was right, the guy next to me said how did you know? I said he always has that. Always he said....there have only been two movies. I explained afterwards that was incorrect and he said he would have to check more movies out. Favorite Bond Sean Connery Favorite Movie "Goldfinger", followed by "From Russia with Love." However, I thought Skyfall was really good Favorite Villain Ernst Blofeld Favorite Theme "Live and Let Die" Favorite Bond Girl "Tie Honey Ryder and Pussy Galore"
I really liked the new one as well. A bit heavy handed with the old vs. new theme but at least they avoided having a hotshot new double-o trying to take his spot cliche. I loved Bardem as a classic, campy villain. My favourite Bond is Roger Moore because he was always just semi-serious and seemed to realize he was making a parody of spy films rather than legit ones. Moore, Connery, and Craig for me, and the rest weren't so good.
Was more of a Rodger Moore bond fan; but that's because of my age. I grew up loving that bond. My favorite villian was "Jaws". Favorite bond movie was "For your eyes only" Favorite song "Live and Let Die" All the bond girls were my favorite!
I liked Lazenby. Only Bond who mocked himself.
My favorite Bond girls are Honey Ryder and Holly Goodnight from The Man with the Golden Gun. I actually met the actress who played Goodnight socially, but she was much...much older.
Yes. To many people they compare it to Jason Bourne because they don't really know much about the history of the film. As a Bond nerd it kind of annoyed me too. I've watched each film at least 3-4 times with the exception of OHMSS....dunno why I can't get through that movie.
I thought it was a little weird that Quantum and Casino didn't have the TM "Vodka Martini, Shaken not stirred." I saw that they brought it back for Skyfall though. Good because I always looked forward to that line as much as "Bond, James Bond."
Haven't seen Skyfall, but from what I've heard it doesn't sound great. The only Bond movie I've ever liked was Casino Royale. The old ones are terrible
