I guess I meant that the Raptors just committed to Derozan this offseason, whereas the Blazers re-signed Aldridge two years ago; they're very different situations.

I didn't think my suggestion of Evans and Robinson was all that unreasonable, personally.

I don't see it that way. Westbrook and Harden play two different positions. Along with Durant they had the best young trio in the league. They broke that up over money. Why would LMA be better for them than Harden and Ibaka? They ended up going with Martin (One year left on his contract) and a lottery pick. (Lamb) Two SG's, which make sense.

Although they are worse off by getting rid of Harden.

Aldridge would have to go to a team that was "close" to competing, AND had assets to give. Houston and maybe Atlanta are the two that come to mind

I am almost certainly alone in this, but I would trade him for Joakim Noah and the rights to Mirotic.

Hear me out: Hickson is a PF. A decent PF on offense, bad on defense. But he's no center. And Aldridge has proven not to be center material, despite being almost exactly the same size as Noah. If we trade LMA, Hickson moves to starter at PF, and we finally have somebody to protect the paint.

Yes, Aldridge is a lot more talented than Noah, but Noah has ten times the heart and is a very smart basketball player. He would transform this team.

Oh, and Mirotic is much more than a throw-in. He's the player I would've taken over Faried instead of Nolan. Yes, I know Freeland is currently making "euro Big Man" look like, well, shit, but Mirotic is much closer to Pau Gasol than Joel Freeland. The trouble with Freeland is he came late to the game and is very mechanical. Mirotic grew up with the game and is incredibly talented.

Would the Bulls do it? Well, they were rumored to have Noah on the block in the Summer. But then they let Asik go, so maybe they have to hang on to him now. And their coach would certainly hate to lose his defensive anchor for exactly the same reasons that I want him.

I respect your posts. I really do. But that one (IMO) is insane. There is no way Evans is the answer for us at SG. (Skill wise or teammate wise) Sac will end up giving this guy away.

And the jury is still out on Robinson. Will he ever be better than LMA? I doubt it.

Why would we trade LMA for that?

I doubt we get anything of equal value for him. Trading him is about as backwards as we can get. Our best case scenario is for us to try and work a team around him. Obviously rebounding is not his forte; but the dude is a good defender and our only scorer with his back to the basket. Hickson can produce at times, but isn't consistent enough to get the job done.

The only type of player I would consider is a center/PF. One that has the ability to start and rebound like a beast; while still able to draw doubles down low. If we can't get a player like that, then we keep what we have.

Are you trying to look like John Belushi for Halloween, or is that just what you look like now?

Huh? The whole advantage of Hickson is that, while less talented than Aldridge or Batum, he plays 110% every game and has no disappearing spells like they do. That makes him just as effective as them.

Yes we need a garbage man; but if you think hickson is just as valuable as Aldridge; then I have nothing else to say. Anyone that values hickson equally as Aldridge isn't thinking rationally. Sorry

Hickson is the ideal backup PF/C we've been needing for several years.
