Good time to be a Grizz fan!

#1 record in the NBA (7-1)
Last three wins: Miami, @ OKC, New York
    - All three wins were also blowouts

I think having Nelson back helps Redick more than anyone else. I'm a fan of E'Twaun Moore, but he didn't really work well with Redick on the floor at the same time. Give me one or the other, but a Moore/Redick backcourt is just unproductive imo.

Agree...you could see that Jameer wasn't feeling it yet, but it opened it up for JJ. I'd love to see a Lillard/Redick/Matthews rotation.

This is why I prefer EFF over PER for ranking rookies. ROY voting more closely follows EFF (total contribution) over PER (adjusted for pace and minutes) - with a slight bias toward higher scoring average. Guys like Drummond, playing 15 minutes against the other teams' second units, can have a great PER, but not be contributing nearly as much as guys like Davis and Lillard that are starting and playing 30+ MPG against the other teams' starters.

PER is a more sophisticated stat, and has its uses, but for ranking rookies, I think EFF is the better choice.

I'm impressed by the Warriors' 5-4 record so far. Their success lately sorta sneaked up on me, but checking out their schedule, they've won some decent games and haven't had a bad loss so far.

Hell yeah! Having Randolph on the Grizz is like a dream come true for me as a Michigan State/Grizzlies diehard. He's really found a great niche and works great with Gasol. They compliment each other so well with Z-Bo's offensive rebounding ability and Gasol's ability to make PG-like passes under the basket. In my opinion, they're the best offensive frontcourt in the league.

I was actually at Z-Bo's big breakout game for the Blazers. If I remember correctly, I think he had a 20/20 night. I was the only jackass in the Grizzlies' arena that night that gave a standing ovation for one of the opposing team's players. I had season tickets that year and would usually wear all Grizz stuff, but that night I was decked out in Michigan St. gear, rooting for a Grizz win but a great night for Z-Bo. Now I can have my cake and eat it to.

That was great. Monty might not be in playing shape anymore, but he's still in fighting shape. I'd take him over KD in a fight tbh. He's got that dad strength now haha.

Monty has been great for the Hornets. I've never been a fan of the team, but I've been to a lot of their games, having lived in the city for the last 5 years. He preaches the right things, like defense and efficiency. If Eric Gordon can ever come back from his knee injury and accept his place as a Hornet (which are huge "ifs"), the Hornets could be a WCF contender within the next two years. I just hope that Benson has patience with Williams and realizes what a great coach he has with a roster mostly full of duds.

I also think that Rivers is in a great environment. I would have questioned Rivers being a lottery pick for any team other than the Hornets, but given Williams' relationship with Doc and Austin, I'd think he'll be the perfect coach for a player that has problems with shot selection, turnovers, and defense. Rivers is raw now, but I think Monty Williams can turn him into a great player down the road, more-so than most coaches.

Yeah, that Zach Randolph for Channing Frye trade isn't looking so good right now. I'd rather have a low post scorer who is a great rebounder than Labambi. We all thought Zach sucked on defense, and that LA was going to be a big improvemente with his length and athletisism, but that hasn't really panned out. We probably could have kept Zach and traded LA for James Harden....

@ESPNStatsInfo: Rajon Rondo with 11 assists in 1st half. He's 13 games away from tying Magic Johnson's record of 46 straight games with 10+ ast.

This is all stupid hindsight. Zbo still plays bad D but gets away with it because of his ability to box out and just how amazing gasol is on D. This stupid argument that we shouldn't have traded him needs to die. He was a bad influence to young players and he made a ton of cash. He went through two teams in the biggest markets in the nba and was happily traded by those teams for pennies on the dollar. The guy was a cancer until he landed in memphis. At this point the "we were stupid to trade zbo" is right up there with "we should have taken Durant" and "we should have taken Jordan".

Agreed. I never wanted to trade Zach. I loved his game on the court. But the fact remains he surrounded himself with idiots. The drugs, the guns, the hoes, the posse......were all a bad combination at a time where the Blazer image was taking a beating. and because of it his trade value sucked. The Blazer's hands were forced by Zach's bad decisions. I am no choir boy and have no problem with what players do on their off days, but they get paid big bucks to uphold a certain off court image.

@ZachLowe_NBA: Rondo becomes 5th player since '85 to get 20 assists in less than 33 minutes (Stockton, Nash, Kidd, Magic): http://t.co/6jGMbaOz
