And how the heck did a White Center get a spot on the ballot and not Damian Lillard the serious ROY candidate?
"He can't be a rookie can he! I don't believe it!" - Rice after Lillard's big 4th quarter bucket 16 of the last 21 Blazers points, 27 Total - 50% FG - 6 of 6 FT - 5 AST Bonafide Star
I don't know why you have any concern with the All-Star ballot. That's probably the most irrelevant aspect in NBA basketball. Fan voting for All-Star spots is a joke in general, but even with the underlying principles of it aside, who has a chance to get more votes than Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, or the Asia package (Lin/Harden)? If you're the Trailblazers, you can run all the campaigns you want to get Lillard elected to the All-Star game, but at the end of the day, that's a waste of time, because it's near impossible. It's not even like a third party presidential candidate... it's like the local guy running a ridiculous grassroots write-in campaign. Being on the ballot wouldn't increase the likelihood of being voted for in any meaningful way.
That's a huge if though. If Oden had panned out, he would probably be in the discussion for the best center in the league at the moment.
Well, that's a stupid rule then, isn't it? If that rule would have been in place 1984-85, Michael Jordan would not have been on the all-star ballot. BNM
