oh come on Sly, he didn't say anything bad about Roy except for the fact he didn't text him himself when LA got selected for the AS game..
I've heard that before and have posted that in here a few times over the years. Roy never liked his Seattle friends to meet up at this house so he would tell them to meet at Oden's. Things would get a little wild now and then and I know that Roy's friends broke Oden's elevator twice, lol.
"The only people I talk to on the regular are T.J. Ford, Jamal Crawford, and Royal Ivey. I don’t need a huge circle" did anyone else find that kind of weird?
Aldridge says that he and Roy weren't buddies because they were rival scorers. He defines himself as a scorer, which is why that's all he is.
This was said many times by some people who dared to claim they might have some inside knowledge now and then. The horror
I sometimes get the feeling from LMA that he's a little aloof or has a chip on his shoulder when it comes to other players. He was drafted 2nd, so that right there gives him some drive to try and out do others, to prove that he had the chops to be even considered for #1. Then you compound that with how Brandon, who was drafted 6th (6th!) goes and wins ROY, and becomes the city's hero and golden boy. That has to eat at a guy who was considered a better prospect and is also a teammate. LMA was just such a 2nd fiddle to Roy's stardom. Then the Oden draft happens, and LMA is relegated further behind this supposed "once in a generation big man," essentially the Bosh of our prospective big-3. Four years later, it's finally his show, his team, and I would bet that he feels a little resentful of all the attention the others got, and are still getting when he is finally the top dog. Sure they were teammates, but fuck, LMA has got to be sick of being the guy reporters pester for comments on Brandon's knees. "How's Brandon? Have you talked to him? What do you think about this development?" All valid questions, but really, why the hell should he care? He has a team to focus on. He's getting attention, but it's attention centered around somebody else. It's got to be frustrating to still be in the shadow of somebody who has nothing to do with you or your team anymore. I can't be surprised if LMA has a less than stellar opinion of Brandon at this point. Now look who's on the team. Another rookie, another 6th pick to draw the spotlight away from him. Sometimes it's got to be a bitch to be LaMarcus Aldridge.
And is it just me or does CSNNW.com look like an early '90s Geocities page? Are they trying to look as crappy as humanly possible?
You have to be a professional no matter how you feel about a teammate. For example, I hate SlyPokerDog, but it doesn't effect my endless stream of quality posts.
Him and LA are very tight. And whether you guys like his game in the court or not, Jamal is a real cool guy. Just normal and down to earth.
I kind of thought the same thing and wondered if LMA would stick around Portland if Oden and Roy were still here. Winning has a way of making people get along though. I blame Roy for LMA's slow developement and many nights of lackadasical basketball, durning that time it just seemed that everybody needed to get out of Roys way so LMA just checked out a lot. I dont think there is much resentment from LMA to Lillard though. LMA is established enough that Lillard doesnt pose a threat to him in that manner. Also LMA has to be mature enough to know he can't do it by himself and he needs at least one fellow allstar type player to get anywhere in this league. All in all I think LMA is in a good position in Portland and probably happy. We arnt winning any championships this year, and he is young enough to ride out one more developement wave. For now though, there isnt much pressure and he is pretty much green lighted to do whatever he wants to do. In fact Im sure the unoffical blazer strategy this year is to make sure Batum and LMA get a shot at the all star game and for Lillard to get ROY.
