and I think you may underestimate the good pieces we might be able to get that could fit better with the team and coach we have now
I think Aldridge is a fine piece for this team. If lillard becomes the man, then Aldridge will be a very good robin. Personally I think we are two solid veterans from contention.
I think Aldridge is perfect for the coach we have now. We need quick big men to run the floor. That's something Aldridge is really good at.
Absolutely. He is perfect for this type of offense. His numbers may go down, but like others have alluded to ......others will benefit from it when he is on the court. You have to have big men who can shoot jumpers in this offense.
My hope is that this isn't anyone's team. There isn't anyone on this team good enough to be the best player on a good team. As much as I like LaMarcus and am impressed with Lillard's early success I do not feel a goodly amount of optimism for the future of this team without the addition of another player that's better than both of them.
If Hickson gets hurt, you'll see how perfect a nonrebounding big man scorer is as we disintegrate. Hickson bails out Aldridge every game. We need to wait for a Dwight Howard-like opportunity, then trade Aldridge.
Hickson bail LA out? Um, no. Hickson is getting some rebounds, sure, but his ineptness on D is unbalancing the whole team.
Take away our best rebounder and no one will notice whether we play defense. We'll be after Aldridge's head for rebounds, not defense, as we slide into historic ineptitude. Edit: just wanted to tell you, no such word as ineptness.
If Hickson gets hurt then of course someone will need to replace him at the center position and gets some rebounds. That has nothing to do with LMA. LMA gives us other things we need. Busting his ass for 25 minutes going after every loose ball is not what we need from LMA. We need his 36-38 minutes on the floor to help open the offense up for others. That is his strength. The threat of posting up is needed. Who else on the team gives us that?
bingo! He regularly commands a double team. After passing out of it they swing the ball to an open shooter while the defense is scrambling. Thats a huge component of the offense. Of course your last question is rhetorical STOMP
