Watch out for U$C and Stanford. They'll want this kid and both of those schools are known for building O-linemen. And Bama and LSU already have good O-line recruits. Bug off

I'm taking a 2nd go at this from a different angle. Oregon is losing 2 stud starting LBs (Kiko, Clay) this year and last year they also lost 2 (Stuckey, Kaddu). Last year's class featured only 1 LB (Bafaro) and this year's class features one of the Robinson twins... but look back to the 2011 class and you'll see 5 LB signees. Derrick Malone has done very well this year and looks to step into Clay's starting spot. Tyson Coleman has played well as Lokombo's backup. While it's agreed that they could stand to add another LB to this class, it's not like the cupboard is bare going forward... in fact it's quite full

Here's hoping we get Kalambayi. I read he may still be available.

We have J-Rod and Mariota on hand, so we're good in the future for QB.

    How about this WR:

    Paul Harris WR

At 6’4″, 190 pounds, Harris is blessed with great size. Combined with his speed and leaping ability, the wideout from Maryland has the potential to be a playmaker on the outside at the college level. He’s got great hands, almost never letting the ball get to his body. As is the case with most players his age, Harris could stand to improve his route running, but that seems likely given his body control and overall fluidity as an athlete.

Harris is committed to Tennessee, but with the coaching shakeup there, his recruitment has opened up a bit. It appears that Oregon is next in line if Harris decides to decommit. Right now, he maintains that he’s committed to the Volunteers, and will remain so as long as the Tennessee’s WR coach stays in Knoxville. However, in the event that the new head coach brings his own staff, Harris could very well end up a Duck.

No, I get it. He's got a pedigree. I just don't say it as I don't think I need to.

it's not like if Oregon were to sign him he'd be needed for at least 2 1/2 more years... plenty of time to put on enough good weight

That's true. He could red shirt a year as well. I do like the idea of a pro's kid.

So um we offered Jalen Ramsey.

Redfield is also out, according to Biggins we told him we had one spot left and decided not to fly him out because Redfield told them he was more of a ND lock.

1 spot left means we have 9 silents with a few backups possible. With the Ramsey offer seems we are going after a secondary position for that last spot.

    Haha!

The Ramsey rumor is (of course) interesting... who's relaying that?

Too bad about Redfield. I wonder what was the straw the broke the camel's back in his recruitment? I'm not asking for crazy theories...

It actually probably just means we only have one spot left for DB's.
So maybe 1 silent DB commit, though it is possible we only take 3 with Seisey, and robinson. But I thought we would take 4.

As for the Straw, it seems we talk to the kids before we get them up with officials. If they say they are extremely unlikely to want to go here we say ok then you don't need to come.

Not sure if it is because we are self penalizing officials due to self administered sanctions or if we would rather spend money on kids who seem really in to going to Oregon.

rivals is in the middle of doing their 2nd to last reranking of prospects and came out with their new top 100 today. Thomas Tyner got his 5th star back and was ranked the 21st best player in the country.

btw... his 5th star bumps Oregon up to 5th in this year's rivals recruiting class if you're judging on stars per commit.

247 peeps are running around with their heads cut off now. I really didn't think we had a great shot at redfield as much as I would have liked him, always thought McQuay seemed more likely though also unlikely. I really just have no idea who we will be getting, just some gut checks like the one about redfield.

I know I just liked the joke. Counting two from this class (Seisay and one of the Robinsons) Oregon has 4 prospects at Safety combined in this and the last class. Conversely, they've no CBs in this class and only 1 in last years class (one of the Amoako's)...

btw... rivals is also reporting the offer to Ramsey

I hear ya, but I'd love to be a fly on the wall of Kelly's office sometimes. The theory I buy into is that by limiting offers, visits, and being seemingly quick to pull out if things aren't progressing, CK is using supply and demand to raise the allure of an offer from Oregon. I'm hearing that Redfield had put off an OV at least once and they felt his interest wasn't sincere so they said see ya! From what I understand of recruiting, that sort of tactic isn't the norm... bending over backward trying to land the talented kid is. While of course you lose out on that kid and this approach will continue to alienate some, it sends out a clear message to the rest who might consider UO.

USC lost 4* Eldridge today. They now have 16 commits. Methinks they will get some guys out east...
