You're right, your friends at breitbart.com should be jailed for creating the artificial riot. Don't we send terrorists to Guantanamo?
Slightly above median is mini-balla? There should be a lot more people driving Dodge Stratus then.
Unions cost 8,000+ jobs working at the Hostess Factory. They, like the Republican's, must find a new way to get things done. The "Our way or the highway" thinking is destructive and can further destroy this economy.
8000 crappy easily-replaced jobs, which the exhausted workers hated after giving up all benefits like pensions years ago to bail out the incompetent owners. The workers put the company to a well-deserved death. McDonald's jobs will be much more pleasant and probably pay more.
hmmm, no these were jobs that paid very well...I dont remember exact figures but somewhere in the 50 per hour average. they were asked to take an 8 percent cut to offset the cost of higher health care benifits...etc ..union said no. No where have I read about the bakers nion " giving up pensions" and I have been in depth on this. If you can prove that statement, I would be interested in seeing that. and as far as I know, no one at McDonalds makes anywhere near that kind of money.
50 per hour! What are you talking about? The pay had been lowered contract after contract. Management kept demanding concessions, threatening to go out of business. Years ago, the workers gave back their accumulated pensions (which had been payroll deducted from their contracted pay for many years) and were never repaid, since the owners couldn't afford it. The future held only more concessions. They all said, we can do better elsewhere, let's put these loser owners out of their misery.
Good for them. And now they can be jobless for years; since they will be competing with 7,999 other people for the same jobs in a State where unemployment was 5.9% even before this shut down took place. And since the average income in Kansas is estimated at $34,000; that's a loss of $272,000,000 per year. YAY UNIONS!!!!!
I recall an article recently that said a lot of the Twinkie workers were making $50+/hour. I solely remember this because I remember thinking, "I live in a place with higher cost of living. I got an edu-me-cation. I'm 10 years in a professional setting. And they make more than me? WTF?" I mean, I'm not hurting by any means, but I was still shocked.
No the average pay was $33,823 per year or $16.87/hr http://www.glassdoor.com/Hourly-Pay...Outlet-Clerk-Hourly-Pay-E329177_D_KO15,34.htm
Except that these aren't McDonalds teenagers. They are skilled union workers with years of experience who will skim the cream off the top of whatever jobs are available. They were making $25-30,000 and will replace that income in no time. They've spent years thinking about this decision, you're brand new to the Hostess situation, and you think you know more than they do.
Jobless for years. Don't make me laugh. They're very skilled. The nonunion average is $34,000? And you just posted that these overpaid union members average exactly that. Kind of kills your argument that union members rip us off, eh?
5.9% unemployement. Why aren't you seeing this figure?!?! That means 5.9% of all state people before Hostess liquidation were already out of work. So now you insert 8,000 more unemployed and you just assume they will find work? LMAO! You are so back assward sometimes.
