Feds have already probably sniffed out this thread and our putting some of you freaks on their radar.
Last time I flew I got an extra special pat down. I think it was because I brought an Arabic dictionary with me through security. A friend of mine gave me the dictionary just before I left for the airport. He knew I liked to study and read about languages and I think he felt guilty he wasn't able to pay me some money he borrowed from me years ago. I thought about just leaving the book in my pocket going through security, but this airport had those full body X-Ray machines. Anyway I'm probably on some list now or something.
I applaud Amtrak for not jumping on the fear train. Nice to know there's still a mode of mass transit that allows you to retain your dignity.
I'd turn Maris into a suicide bomber. Just tell him all he's really killing is police. He seems to like that.
No offense, but have you looked in the mirror lately? ABM is the definition of harmless looking dude.
Both. Neither will protect you from anything. Both increase your fare, waste a chunk of your lifetime, and drain our economy dramatically. The main reason the TSA exists is to get Americans used to submitting to authority on a regular basis, so they can be herded like domesticated animals. Hitler used the same tactics, coupled with gun control, to frighten and enslave Germany. Not only are train bombings less frequent across the globe than nearly any form of unnatural death you could ever dream up, there's never been even one in America.
You used to add something to the subject, but lately you've just become an unimaginative troll with a hard-on for me. What's your issue?
The first and last one seem to be pretty universal for trains. I rode all over Europe for 10 weeks back in '05 and can't remember one time having my luggage checked. The only time I was asked for ID was going into/out of the EU. The only time I saw any sort of security in a station was in Spain, but that was just the police harassing every person who looked Moroccan or South American..or anything of color. In Japan I had a rail pass and just walked by the counter and flashed the pass and I was good to go (other than the bullet trains that need seat reservations). I'm pretty sure they only check to see if it is expired. What type of security were you expecting?
What you experienced was the flip side of racial profiling. If your name was Abdul Jamaal and you had swarthy features, you would have been asked for your ID and stricter measures would have been taken.
