So why are these other schools so incompetent and stupid? In Miami we don't need a new overzealous gun license proposal, we need guns in our schools to protect kids. Statists live in a utopian world where burglars don't target weak and vulnerable targets. Gun licenses don't address the problem very well in the long-run, instead I prefer security guards and allowing people to decide what is acceptable on their property. It is up to property owners to determine what can or cannot come on their property. And people have to defend themselves, not rely on some cop half an hour away.

The state forced people to fund this school where the tragedy occurred, gave the parents of the victims few options aside from sending their children to this gun-free utopia, and then the state completely failed to protect their children because they don't understand protection in the first place.

You don't need armed guards at elementary schools. If you believe that, then by extension, you will need armed guards at every single square inch of america.

I agree you don't need armed guards everywhere, but people are freaking out about statistical outliers. So if you were going to do something or you live in fear like most left-wingers I know, I think my elementary school does it right.

Perz..If it is worth the cost to protect a retail establishment, is it worth the cost to protect children?

You are correct. Armed citizens erase the need for armed gestapo.

Wait, so it's left wingers who live in fear, but it's right wingers who are loading up on guns to protect themselves from threats from burglary, or military attack by our government? Seems to me you have it backwards.

Statistically you're wrong, and I'm being logical so it looks like fear to me. Even if you live in ignorance instead of fear that's not much better.

"Right wingers"are very fearful (which I am not), but they have a superior position on guns.

statistics on who lives in fear? Really? I'd be interested in seeing those if you can provide them.
As for ignorance or fear, well, I'm just talking to your comment about left wingers living in fear. I might be ignorant of th threat of someone breaking in to my house, and my inability after to get them out without a gun. But I certainly do not live in fear of someone breaking in and killing me with their gun.

Re: My (public) elementary school has armed guards, it is not some 22nd century conce

    kind of simple, really

if a house is going to get broken into, is it the one with the left wing sign in the yard or the one that says, "dont worry about the dog, its the owner that carries a gun.."

Actually there are stats for that, predictions allow us to determine which side is fear mongering more.

Conceal carry laws disprove you already, and to me show your side is very illogical.

I'm fine with this attitude as well, but I don't mind my solution either.

There are banks that are not protected by armed guards, the people their rightfully take a chance with their lives. And that's their decision to make.
