Would you still endorse the offer knowing what you know today?

    14 PER, 40.1% FG, 9.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 blocks. 2012-13 so far.

    18.7 PER, 49.7% FG, 12.8 Points, 8.8 rebounds, 2 blocks in 2011-12.

Wasn't the offer like 12+ mil per? Regardless, I would still do it; even though his performance dropped a little on the offensive side. Looks like his D stepped up.

Yeah, probably. I don't believe that his current semi-poor play will be the norm, and I believe he's been improving over the course of the season.

Question is, would we be whining bout his play this year? Heck yes we would. But I would still take him.

There would be multiple threads wanting to trade him for Dwight Howard, lol.

He's so slow and uncoordinated. And he has maybe 2 moves on offense. I didn't know much about him before, but after seeing him play, there is no way in hell I'd offer him the max.

I'd much rather have thrown $25mil at Asik like HOU did. Or made a strong push for PHL to trade Vucevic.

Hibbard is exactly the type of player the Blazers need to add to this roster.

Hickson is far better. The only thing Hibbert offers is his height, and he hardly ever uses it.

This year, Hickson has been far better. Last year, Hibbert was. Nothing is definitive.

As for the size difference, it helps Hibbert be a far superior defender, which is something we sorely need.

And it should be noted that signing Hibbert would not have precluded us from signing Hickson too.

WE are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Having a player like Hibbert could change all that.

We certainly could have (and this is merely speculation) but we may have not thinking we didn't need him as much with Hibbert on board and Leonard backing him up. Would love a great backup PF but POR never seems intent on wasting a lot of money on one.

Hibbert is currently anchoring the league's top ranked defense. There's two ends pf the court, last I checked, and Hibbert is a FAR superior defender to Hickson. And while Hickson has been outrebounding Hibbert, Hibbert has a greater overall effect on his team's rebounding when he is in or out of the game.

I would gladly give Hibbard 12 million/yr (of PA's money) for 4 years. I think it will be a big mistake if they offer Hickson that money for that long . . . in fact even with the season Hickson is having, I don't think anyone will offer him 12 million/yr, while unlikely Indy would trade Hibbard to get rid of his contract.

Hickson is playing out of his mind right now, but I perosnally don't think he is a starting PF or center on a good playoff team.

Where do you get 12 MIL for Hickson? He will get 8 Max per year. I would sign him at 7.5 average for 3 years even as a backup with the way he is playing.

Even with Hickson's play; I doubt he will get that type of money. I'm thinking the realistic number is around 8-9 mil PER. And if that's the rate, then why not? I would definitely understand if management declines is the market offers him a 10-12 mil per.

Hickson's cap hold will be 8 mm. With the weak FA class, and his rebounding, he will get more than that

7.6 Technically and I think that is what he averages in a deal he signs this summer. It is a weak class overall but at his position there are some names. Josh Smith, David West, Paul Millsap and Carl Landry to name a few. Most of those guys are going to find a home before Hickson (unless he signs with us right out of the chute).
