Whomever names it loses my business for life. Hard to tell Portland from any other slumburg anymore. Most Portlanders are transplanted from LA now.

You guys who are crying about this do know that the NBA and the Trail Blazers is a business, right?
The more profitable the business side is, the more likely Paul will spend more on the basketball side.

Ya, I don't get it either.

The only thing I can think of is that the management team has made mistake after mistake, and some of them have embarrassed the city. Maybe fans are worried about that aspect?

I'm sure they'll take that into consideration. And then a second later laugh at it because it's such a pointless thing to threaten to do.

Yes. We could end up with the Trojans Ribbed For Her Pleasure Con-Dome. Or worse.

Would we then replaze Blaze with Trojan Man?

I could also see fans throwing rubbers at the refs: "If you're going to screw us, wrap up first!"

Why do I have a feeling you're now planning on bringing some "protection" to the next game you attend...?

Everyone, and I mean everyone, calls the stadium where the A's and Raiders play the Oakland Coliseum. Frankly I can't even remember what the corporate name is, although I go there a few dozen times a year.

Everyone calls the stadium where the 49ers play Candlestick, or the Stick, although it briefly was 3Com. I only remember the corporate name because it was ridiculed as 3 Condom.

It will still be Rose Garden. Whatever label they put on the building.

I still call where the Timbers play "Civic Stadium".

I like the idea of Intel or Les Schwab. Doesn't bother me at all if they change the name it has had the same name for 15 years I'm ready for a change. Public financing that goes to for profit sports teams pisses me off but a for profit sport team maximizing other opportunities to make profit doesn't bother me at all. It seems smart.

I don't think Nike would want their name on it since they do so much business throughout the league.

Regardless of what the new corporate name is... most people will still call it the Rose Garden... at least for the next several years. It took me that long to finally say "PGE Park" instead of "Civic Stadium" and now its "Jeld Wen Field" but I still say "PGE Park".

I don't care what they call it as long as following giving the name the announcer gets to add, "Home of the World Champion Portland Trailblazers".
