The thing that pissed me off about this entire story is how Teo didn't even attend the funeral of his 'girlfriend'. I just didn't understand it. I thought it was odd at the time, and I am a cynical SOB, yet even I bought into the bullshit story that "she would have wanted him to play". I officially won't believe anything the media reports anymore. This was an easy story to trace and expose, yet it took some yutz involved in it contacting Deadspin to break it.
reports are that teos dad met her? and that teo spent time with her in california and hawaii... and the cardlinals fb met her? so either there was a girl setting these guys up to be duped or they are ALL lying for god knows why also, aside from the gay angle touted as fact by a few horny guys here, maybe he just got tired of telling everyone he is a virgin and saving himself/mormon and pure and all that bullshit and i wonder if all of the truth will ever see the light of day

...right, so why is the focus not on figuring out who this "mystery" women actually is? So many that are directly involved are trying vigoriously to save face and spin this around as Te'o being the victim. If he is the victim, then WHO was this "fake" person on the other end of the phone calls, emails, and alleged face-to-face meetings? And what is their motive?
my immediate thought upon hearing about it was gambling, maybe make a large bet on the upcoming game after the death reveal, seems kinda far fetched though, lbs cant really effect the game to that extent now notre dames AD says that teo and the woman never met face to face, which contradicts all sorts of statements... what a clusterfuck
...it doesn't look like they will be able to lie their way out of this one. I am pretty sure twitter knows the truth, I am sure a simple IP search would reveal who was controlling the account(s).
Gambling? What? LOL The obvious answer is that Teo lied about it all for some reason, never thought it would matter, yet suddenly was receiving a lot of national media attention and decided for some reason or the other to try to end the story in a way that benefited him. Seems pretty clear to me that he was involved in it.
This is a weird story. I know someone claiming that the AD and Kellys job are on the line, I thought that was ridiculous. What you guys think?
