Wonder if Boston starts a firesale now. KG and Pierce are old but have limited years left on their deals and plenty of teams would still love to have them.

I think they have to. Rondo won't be able to really play for another year, so that's this season down the drain and half of next.

Where does Paul Pierce go now? Boston wants some young talent but he would probably want to go to a contender.

the thing is, they CAN'T trade pierce to historical rivals like the Knicks or Lakers, the Celtics fanbase will burn down the TD Watergarden or whatever its called.

If I was OKC, I'd try to see if they could somehow get KG for Perkins, Collison and Torontos pick.

I don't think Boston would necessarily do that, but the Toronto pick could be tempting.

maybe to the Grizzlies for Rudy Gay? trade KG back to Minnesota for some of their young players? Maybe KG to Golden state for some of their young guns?

That would be interesting. I don't think they'd give up that much size though, OKC has to seriously worry about the Spurs in the WCF.

I'm more interested in Pierce, but it would probably take Harrison Barnes and although I don't think Barnes ever becomes as good as PP, its a tough decision for a couple years of Pierce vs. keeping 20 year old Barnes. We would absolutely be better in the short term, but is Curry/Klay/Pierce/Lee/Bogut with a good bench a real contender?

Also, GS has can't trade a first round pick until Utah gets the pick owed to them by GS (all but guaranteed to be this coming draft).

add KG to the mix (see above trade), and its absolutely a contender. Curry, Pierce, Lee and KG?

boston gets some SOLID youth to rebuild with Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes too.

A little much for gs to give up. I can see one of Thompson/barnes not both though.

Houston seems like they've got the young talent to make a trade, and the supporting talent that could justify taking on some old vets who only want to win rings. They've got Terrence Jones, Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris, Donatas Monteijunas, Chandler Parsons, Royce White to play with. Making the dollars work might be tough but I think they could get KG and Pierce and end up with a Lin/Harden/Pierce/KG/Asik starting unit.

Rondo would make them look really, really good. Especially Klay.

Curry/Pierce/Lee/KG core is pretty nice for the next year or two. If Rush wasn't injured that would be a hell of a starting unit and would really make me interested in trading youth for short term contention. I'm on the fence about it right now.

true, but I don't know if the Spurs can handle the speed and athleticism of Durant and Westbrook.
