Best running back - Walter Payton Best Quarterback - Tom Brady (and I hate the Patriots) Best Wide Receiver - Jerry Rice Best TE - Tony Gonzalez Best center - Mike Webster Best guard - Jerry Kramer (not in Hall of Fame for some reason) Best tackle - Art Shell Best Cornerback - Deion Sanders (thought about Rod Woodson, too, but Deion was the first CB that teams refused to throw at in the modern era) Best Outside Linebacker - Lawrence Taylor Best Inside Linebacker - Jack Lambert Best Safety - Ronnie Lott Best Defensive End - Reggie White Best Defensive Tackle - Mean Joe Green Kicker - Jan Stenerud Punter - Ray Guy Coach - Vince Lombardi PR - Devin Hester KR - Gale Sayers for what he did while healthy, Josh Cribbs for his career as a KR.
Lott was a safety. Not sure where you got your info. Erick Wright and Dwight Hicks were the 49ers corners way back then. Carlton Williamson and Ronnie Lott were the safeties.
Bo Jackson is the only player jersey I have ever owned for any sport. My favorite player in any sport of all time. Chills watching Bo play back in the day. I still wear it to Raider games and even on Raider games while I'm watching on TV. That said, he didn't play enough to be the "greatest ever", IMO. Walter Payton was just a sick, sick man at RB.
Interesting how many different legitimate answers you can get to questions like this in football. Makes Jerry Rice that much more impressive that he is the unanimous top guy at his position.

Rice was amazing. He didn't have the freaky athletic ability of a Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss, but he had the best preparation, work ethic, dedication, and focus of any athlete ever.

It's been really great reading everyone's different opinions about who was the best. I'm definitely biased towards Niners like Steve Young, Jerry Rice, etc. Dion was amazing. I really liked Barry Sanders and Terrell Davis. I think if Davis had stayed healthy he might have gone down as the best RB of all time. The guy was amazing. This would be my all-time favorite list to watch. Best running back - Davis/Sanders Best Quarterback - Steve Young/Vick (when he was young)/Elway Best Wide Receiver - Rice/Randy Moss (when he was young) Best TE/FB - Shannon Sharp/Mike Alstott was amazing when he was healthy Best Cornerback/Safety - Dion/Champ Bailey/Woodson/Green/I was a huge Merton Hanks fan Best Linebacker - Ken Norton Jr/Patrick Willis Best Defensive Lineman - Reggie White/Strahan Best Offensive Lineman - Can't think of any off the top of my head
