As a NON-gun guy, I still have yet to see a gun, all by its self, kill somebody. If somebody wants to kill another person, they will just use what they can. Guns, knives, poison.

Nothing is being done when it comes to vehicles?

    We have speed limits
We have a whole book of traffic laws (school buses stop at railroad tracks to vehicular homicide)
you lose your license if you drive under the influence (for life on the 3rd one and you go to prison)
    you need a license
    you need insurance
lose license for many differnt reason incluiding 3 moving violations in a year
you need to take a class and pass tests (including an eye test)

Of course you can't ban cars, there needs to be a balance. Just like no one here is saying ban guns. Just regulate it in a serious fashion, like they do when it comes to driving a vehicle.

If anything you've proven the point of many gun owners.

All that regulation and there's STILL idiots who kill people because they're negligent. The problem isn't too many or not enough gun laws, it's that this country doesn't address mental illness.

It never stops. There is always something to be outraged about ... just ask the media and politicians, they shape what we're supposed to be outraged about at any given time.

This thread is a great example of how the media shapes the conversation in the USA.

I will add that the Democrats didn't seem to concerned about supplying guns to Mexican drug cartels the last two years. Must not have been a political advantage in having a national discussion on all of the deaths directly tied to those guns. That plan backfired, but a school shooting? That's just too good to not exploit for a political agenda.

guns are dangerous, no doubt, if you have one, odds go up that someone in your house will be killed by a gun

    same for cars

Guns don't kill people. People don't kill people. Bullets kill people.

As for Van Exel, I try to pretend that Voshon Lenard was here for two years, instead of remembering that that Piss-and-Purple douchebag ever played in Portland.
