Jason Terry? BOS may be dumping him to shed salary.

Should we have any interest, for who?

Will have approx 2years/10 mill left after this season.

Personally, I'd like to preserve our cap space, but JT certainly helps our backcourt and provides instant offense off the bench. Would rather take a flyer on Delonte West..

No way. Not nearly enough of an upgrade to make up for the cap space loss

Jason Terry is the perfect player to come off the bench, plus Stotts knows him well. I don't see why it wouldn't be a bad idea. I just don't know what player(s) we could use though. Obviously Hickson would need to be used, but we would need an additional 6 mil of expering to make it stick.

It's a bad idea because he's making quite a bit of money.

You can't spend too much on your bench guys so as to not have enough money to spend on your starters. We need a starting Center (and maybe a starting SG) so for the most part you need good values (in contracts, and performance) from our bench.

I guess you can get away with one splurge (money-wise) from your bench but he better be 6th man of the year type production if you splurge. Terry used to qualify. Not sure he does now.

Without Terry, Dallas never wins a ring. That was only 2 years ago. Maybe he dropped significanty though, but I still see him being very productive in Boston.

Oh shit I misread. I saw the first post saying 10 mil. I factored that's what he is making per year. Reading comprehension problem.

5 million is too much? That is a fine salary for a bench player. Why is that bad? And if we traded Hickson for Terry, we won't be having Hickon's cap hold of 7 million. We may not have max to offer anymore, but we could still make a lop sided trade + 7-8 million.

That is what I am saying. 2 years ago sure. Not so sure now.

Think he is a pretty significant upgrade over Nolan/Price/Sasha..

look at a guy like Jordan Crawford (WIZ), production per 36 this yr is close to jamal Crawford who is in running for 6th man of the yr this year. Jordan Crawford make 1.8 mil this yr and 2.2 mil next, he can create his own shot as well, something we badly need, good value for a sisth man IMO, try to trade JJ for him, he is available

He will be 36 years old at the beginning of next season. Unlike Andre Miller his quickness is important to his success. He is bound to lose it soon.

Yeah I started noticing Crawford when that asshole made that 3 against us! He's actually a perfect compliment for 6th man.

I think Bob Cousy's grandmother's corpse would be a pretty significant upgrade over Nolan/Price/Sasha...

I'm sure you like the idea of Terry more than my alternate idea of Delonte West.

Terry is a backup shooting guard, and shooting guard is not the highest priority for us right now.

    Backup PG
    Starting C

Those are higher than backup SG.

Actually I think Back-up scoring wing is more important than PG. Starting center is the #1 concern, IMO.
