    Good lord.

And the other two along with Marty are Nate Robinson and Rashad McCants.

Ya, I remember everyone raving that it was the single best workout in team history.

I wish they had took that advise when they saw Durant instead

KP did fight for CP3, apparently.

Nash totally fell in love with the workout wonder.

Some players can light it up in practice but just can't do it in the games. Martell is now becoming a pretty good player but a little late for us.

I watched Casey this afternoon at the practice facility and Luke Babbitt must have hit 99 out of 100 3's going around the arc. That's a bit of an stretch, but easily 90+%

Then the proper thing is to let him go and look to bring him back in 3 years :)

I wouldn't mind that but still some others I would prefer. But if we got him at a decent costs compared to the others...

How much did CP3's measurements sway your opinion on his upside?

FWIW, his wingpan and standing reach are identical to the 5'9" Isaiah Thomas -- 7'9" standing reach.

    Intangibles/BBIQ >>>>>>>>> measurements/athleticism

As I remember it, I was in the minority who wanted to draft cp3 , and I agree there were many who were swayed by his measurements. Apparently, after years of Damon, many wanted to stay away from "midget" PG's.

Not so much. Remember, Nash was really sold on Telfair at the time, too...

I joined this Realm of Nerds (BBF) the night we drafted Martell.

Ugh, I just went back and looked at the 2005 draft discussion. I was all in favor of Gerald Green and Deron Williams because Pizza guy thought both had a higher ceiling than Paul.

I believed all the Slurpie drink Nash was serving me!! I believed that Telfair was our answer at PG. I thought it wise to trade down and fill two positions (Webster and Jack) from the one we had.
Oh, its painful to revisit this.

If Nash did believe in Telfair then why did we need Jack if we had our PG of the future though? Seems like if they wanted a PG they should have took the best one. If they thought they were set at PG then trade down but don't take another PG.

Because Jack was a tough 1-2, and Marty was seen as a sharpshooting super-athletic 2-3.
