Yeah, he's not really an upside pick though. The guy's a niche role player, and he's good at his niche. I'd definitely look at him in the 2nd round, depending on who else is still on the board.

Don't you guys have defensive problems right now?

We have depth problems. If its a late 2nd I'm fine with it. I'm kinda intrigued by this Nate Wolters kid though if we have a late 2nd. I watched him a couple years ago go into Hec Ed and whoop the shit outta UW.

The bigger issue with the frontcourt is post scoring and drawing fouls. It's nonexistent.

    Exactly.

I look at his age as a positive. We need guys that can produce off the bench and being on an extremely cheap contract is a nice bonus.

Mbakwe is not going to be a standout defender but we're going to need a guy like JJ off the bench to just rebound and play with energy and I think he could be that kind of guy.

    I don't know about that.

Post scoring is something a lot of teams are lacking and I remember reading somewhere that even with Stotts moving LaMarcus out of the post more, he was still at the top or near it in points scored off post ups. As far as the foul drawing issues, part of that blame can go to Dame, Wes and Nic who all have pretty perimeter oriented games.

The best play of the game was Mbakwe putting Zeller on his ass -

Zeller is likely to keep slipping, and I hope that if we do end up getting our pick that he doesn't slip to us

I don't know--as much as I enjoyed seeing him stuff Zeller, I feel like I'd be wary of him.

From what the announcers were saying last night, that was BY FAR the best Mbakwe had played all year, not just in terms of overall performance, but specifically in terms of being active, engaged, and energetic.

That performance last night seemed like the kind of game that elevates a second-round player into a first-round spot--the kind of game that an owner or an ignorant GM might point to as justification for over-ruling scouts who know better.

Mbakwe should be picked in the 2nd round but is a PF, we already have two, and I think a guy like Corey Jefferson is a better pick for a PF in the 2nd round.
I haven't seen a lot of Indiana this year, for some reason every time I start watching one of their games it's already in the final minutes. I have never seen anything too impressive from Zeller yet, but it is a small sample size. Anyway, the guy I like most so far in this draft is the one that got injured - Narlens Noel.
Shabazz Mohammed I've also got to see lately, I see him as a poor-man's James Harden. McLemore I was never impressed with, saw Kansas (against Iowa state maybe?) without Noel and Mclemore was invisible. Don't remember paying attention to him earlier in the year, either. Their other guard, Alijah something, had a fantastic game, though.

    BUMP

Scouts have been flocking to Greece to see this kid. He's a major talent (apparently) and could sneak into the lotto.

That's crazy considering he came out of freaking nowhere.

A SF that could top out at 6'11"-7'0"

I'm not a fan of that pick either.

That high in the draft I'm looking at Smart, Noel, Len.

    Near 7'2" with a 7'9" wingspan.

Givony, even though he's in the top-10, doesn't think he's an NBA player.

    Feel? speed? I don't know.

Fuck I was looking at the schedules, and I am not so sure we will get our draft pick. I thought Dallas would pass us, now I am not so sure. And if they don't.....who else will? Toronto maybe. I think we are stuck around 13-14th.

And that is the worst possible scenario that could happen. So basically this thread is dead to me.......
