That last bit about bringing Greg along more slowly, doesn't bode well.

I see his point. But he was the 3rd option and for good reason. When you have potentially 3 all-stars, someone has to be the first option, someone the second... But in the end they all get their touches.

This is not the mental make-up of a winner - it's that of a whiner. He's now probably upset at having to play with Damian and Nic. And still hasn't developed any sort of symbiotic game with any of his teammates.

I don't care what sort of religion someone practices as long as they don't try to push it onto others.

...I can see this being somewhat truthful, Aldridge has always seemed a bit lackadaisical to me -- hopefully Damian's winning attitude will wear off on him!

When Oden was drafted, did any Blazer fan think that LMA would be the only one playing at an All-Star level, let alone being the only one playing right now?

What a weird ride it's been for LMA, and he's been a rock throughout it.

Yeah, I think Aldridge doesn't have the kill instinct. (not that I have it myself) but it is needed even for leadership. I think Aldridge seems reclusive.

Aldridge will always be Robin to a Batman. I've accepted this 4 years ago. I never assumed that Aldridge could ever be a #1 on a team.

Doesn't mean we don't need Aldridge though. The guy is still demanding doubles and his post game is improving every year. We need him to be successful

seriously though, how many "batman's" are there in the league?

There are only 10 guys in the league that score more PPG than him (a good general indicator for one being "the man" on a particular team).

Sometimes the Batman doesn't mean the high scorer. Magic was the Batman in L.A. but Kareem was always the top scorer on the team.

Yes when Magic was the Batman. It's not my opinion.

Sounds rather introspective and, gasp, mature of LMA. He has experienced a lot in his time in Portland, and he's managed to do it without freaking out like pretty much every poster on this board has at least one time over the last 6 years, myself definitely included. I remember people being pissed at him for wanting a decent contract, and then clobbering him for being overpaid. Yet, he's produced, and those criticisms have sunk into the memory hole, only to be replaced by new criticisms.
