As much as I love Lillard, I can't see him being better (in the long run) than Kyrie "Aussie" Irving.
Not to piss in anybody's cheerios, but Isiah the personnel guy leaves a lot to be desired ... if he's right about Lillard it's sort of like the broken clock being right twice a day.
I think most of you are missing the bigger picture here. Thomas said he wanted him on his team, which can only mean Thomas will soon be GM of the Blazers, and we will become the laughing stock of the league again.
In three years; I have confidence that Lillard will be one of the top pg's in the nba. He has the drive, mentality and skill to get there. And this has nothing to do with Thomas's comment. Pretty much everyone in the nba believe in him.
If Lillard becomes a Westbrook without the me first attitude; that would be the ultimate player! I pray that happens!
Westbrook really isn't a good comparison for him. Maybe Tim Hardaway, or another point guard that could shoot and pass. Westbrook is just a freak athlete. He reminds me of Antonio Daniels on steroids.
I meant production wise, and improvement wise. Look at Russells first year, he shot sub 40%, now he's one of the best in the game.
Actually, Thomas will be GM of the Magic. He will then trade Jameer Nelson and a pick to Portland for Lillard. Nelson will age quickly; the player drafted will blow out his knee. Then we will become the laughing stock of the league again. Owned by Isiah Thomas.
If Lillard becomes a player like Isiah Thomas (not personnel guy) I will be more than happy with him.
