The Chicago Bears agreed to terms Tuesday on a four-year deal with former New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett, the team announced, making the tight end the club's first acquisition in 2013 free agency.

Financial terms of the deal weren't immediately disclosed but sources told ESPN that the deal is worth around $20 million. Bennett is scheduled to meet with the Bears on Tuesday night, according to a source.

The Bears also signed LT Jeremy Bushrod from the Saints to protect Cutler's blind side.

I have no idea why the Bears let Greg Olson get away.

I love the moves that Emery has made. I have always scratched my head at the trade of Olson. The only good out of it was that the 3rd round draft choice helped get Marshall.

I think bird in hand. If you have Olson, you keep him unless you're getting a known quantity who's better. Or you have a guy ready to step in.

Agreed. They must have thought Kellen Davis was the answer or at the time with Martz that the position was of no value.

Bennit might shine for the Bears. On Dallas he was a malcontent because he thought he should be on the field and a focal point of the offense instead of one of the greatest TEs to play in the last 20 years.
Bennet Is amazingly talented and being the #1 TE on a good team should make him bring his A game.
