So let me get this straight, me commenting that if Aldridge averaged 20/10 he would get less criticism, that somehow means that all his criticism is derived from him never getting to 20 and 10? The way that some of you put words in my mouth is what's hysterical. My comment was such a harmless and generalized response to another posters comment, I seriously do not understand how it has drawn the ire of you and the other Aldridge QRF.
It was merely a response to his (hilariously false) comment. Depends on how he does it. Context is important.
My hilariously false comment? How was my comment false? I think you and a few others LIKE having Aldridge to defend. It's your own little crusade and you enjoy doing it. It's why you launch to his defense any time someone says something that could even remotely be considered negative in his regard, and my comment wasn't even negative. Good grief.
So let me get this straight. If Aldridge averages 20/10 in 42 minutes, would you stop complaining about him? You know he'd still be a poor rebounder right? So what is so special about hitting that benchmark? Like I said, this is less about Aldridge and more about your comment.
I don't think it's entirely just launching to Aldridge's defense, though. I think it's mroe taking issue with the mindset that 1 rebound a game would end complaining about him for some, and why that exactly is. Why other than that it sounds pretty should someone putting up 20/10 out of context be perceived that much better? Yeah, I generally want the better rebounder, all things considered. I'm not saying if I had choice of him getting one more or not, I would take one fewer. But then listing up David Lee, for example, and you realize he does nothing on the other end of the floor, but because he got 20/10 once 4 years ago, it's more ok to include him in discussion as a top 3-4 PF, but not Aldridge? That seems like an odd way to judge top players. I dunno.
Where in my comment did I say that I would personally stop criticizing him? Where in my comment did I say others would completely stop complaining about him? I said, "If he averaged 20 and 10 you would hear very few people complaining about him." Pretty vague statement. I have no idea why you, RR7, and Roytoy want to make such a big deal about this, but so be it.
If you'd hear very few people complaining about him, that would seem to say people are complaining about him without the 20/10. And that would be less if 20/10 was the case. So thus, some people would stop complaining about him.
It's a fucking comment in a thread on a basketball forum about a game. Sorry if I didn't sit down and stare at a screen for 30 minutes pondering the many outcomes of my thought. It was a completely benign remark in regards to something someone else said about Aldridge's production. I don't see anyone crucifying magnifier for what he said. You want to lash out at people who complain about Aldridge. I get it. You're tired of people attacking him and you're taking it out on me. Except I didn't complain about him in that post. I speculated on the reaction that the Blazers community would have, as whole, about averaging 20 and 10. So put your implications elsewhere.
Christ people chillax! Aldridge is better and more handsome than Monroe and David Lee! Now that we got that settled; let's talk about Kingspeed having sex with an nba player!
Btw.... There isn't a power forward in the game right now that I would rather have than Aldridge. This isn't homer either. Anyone that thinks there are better power forwards better have more valid reasons then they've posted so far this season.
You made a stupid comment and you got called out for it. Nothing more, nothing less. It's only becoming a big deal because you felt the need to defend it.
And you're instigating. It's obvious the two of you disagree when it comes to discussing Aldridge. Agree to disagree.
Yeah seriously; like either opinion is going to affect anything. You're just comparing the sizes of your ePenis.
He seems entitled, but he is fun to watch. I also might consider Kevin Love, mostly because his game is well-suited to play well for years if he can stay healthy. He's not very athletic in his play, but he's a good athlete. He'd be a nice #2 option on offense for a contending team with a very good defensive center covering for his defense.
