He might only have two next year.

Outside of Hickson it feels like we haven't used the lob as much this year as in years past. I'm not if there are stats to support that. I think a product of that is having more of a scoring threat at PG finally.

Zags actually has a great point. Factoring age and injuries; what other pgs would you rather have than Lillard?

Probably right, but still I think that needs to be something he really works on. Once he drives; the entire defense collapses on him. Setting up a lob would be a nightmare for defenses.

Well between the homer in me and factoring in Lillard's clutchness and ability to adapt I would take Lillard.

Most of the guys that I would probably take are either coming off a major injury or can't seem to stay healthy.

    Irving
    Rose
    Rondo (maybe)

I look at Curry, Wall, and Holliday as lateral moves, and Lillard could be better than all three. CP3 isn't someone I would want because he's already playing on one knee without a meniscus and we don't need another Roy scenario. He's an amazing player, but he wouldn't make sense for us.

Agreed but if you combine that with the danger of the tear drop and he becomes essentially unguardable

Yeah, I would rather he works on the teardrop. It would make him unguardable.

Lillard is like a rich man's Mike Bibby. Ideally he'll be a better Chauncey Billups (which is saying A LOT: Chauncey was finals MVP). But Kyrie Irving is younger and better, although possibly the Greg Oden of PGs.

Work on both. It's not like he has to be stellar at the lob. He just needs to look for it more. Maybe stotts develops this next season?

I don't think anyone would dispute that Irving is better, but the guy cannot stay healthy. He has already missed 20 games this season. What good is a player if he can't stay on the floor?

I know it sounds silly but I hope that the coaching staff recognizes this and not just a few random guys on a message board. Because I have no doubt that if Lillard puts his mind to it he can do anything. That's another reason I would choose him over even Irving right now. And I REALLY like Irving game.

Rose, Irving and wall all need their athleticism to make them stellar. Ironically wall, rose and Irving have all battled some injuries. I actually think you could take away Lillards athleticism and he would still be elite.

When I hear "RIGHT NOW", I think of this month. So...

http://bkref.com/tiny/RkY4s This is the list of players who right now are averaging more than Lillard's March numbers (22.3p/3.0r/7.1a on 49.7% shooting)

A forgotten young PG is Isaiah Thomas. Check out how he's been playing over the past ten games:
    30 mpg, 18 ppg (48%, 42 3%, 95 ft%), 5apg, 1.3 spg
Now Sacto's leading scorer - and they've got the same record as us over the past ten games.

See if you can produce a list that just has Lillard and Lebron on it. It's not that hard to produce a list that just has Lebron on it.

I can't in this tool because it only uses full-season averages, but Lillard's March numbers would put him #2 on the list.
