Nice story on Aldridge's emergence as the top power forward in the league . . . http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...e-top-5-nba-players-at-every-position/page/21
Interesting point, this year no one averaged 20-10 (pts/rebounds) this year. The closest? LaMarcus Aldridge.
Ranking the 2012-2013 NBA Power Forwards http://www.hoopsworld.com/ranking-the-2012-13-nba-power-forwards/
He didn't actually piss me off because i never actually said that Aldridge couldn't be considered top three or four because he has never averaged 20 and 10.
Just to play devil's advocate, but Hoopsworld isn't much better than Bleacherreport. Remember, that's the site that didn't even list Brandon Roy on their top shooting guards article.
I think an argument could be made that he's the top power forward, but Kevin Love hasn't played this year, Blake Griffin has seen a significant drop in his stats since his rookie year, and David Lee is right there with him in terms of production. What I'm most impressed with is Aldridge's improvement in blocks. I think he's putting up around 2 blocks per game right now. That's pretty awesome. If he played like this all year, I think it would be a clear cut case of him being #1.
No, you're right. Though this did seem to me like you were saying how can you consider him a top 3 or 4 PF if he is only 19th in rebounding. Doesn't specifically mention 20/10. Apologies
I just appreciate that you like to hold a grudge. Good on ya man. Very big of ya. Funny how two posts later I said:
Of the PF's (according to ESPN), Aldridge ranks 1st in scoring 6th in rounds 13th in FG% 7th in FT% (and of the top 10, he has the most FT's attempted by 42) 4th in Assists Tied for 10th in Steals 9th in blocks (15th in per 48) 3rd in double doubls and 1st in people bitching about his production/game.
It's not even about Aldridge at this point, and you should know that. It's about the personal bullshit on this forum that some people like to cling to. "OMG you posted something that I perceived as negative about Aldridge, I'm going to bring it up and rehash it every chance I can so that every thread turns into one huge bitch fest."
no player "plays like this" all year (cept for the top superstars), so that's a weird argument to make. btw, there's a reason why Blakes production has gone down each of the years he's been in the league. It's called the Sydney Wicks syndrome. If your game only relies on you dunking and you're not really able to make plays for yourself, you're not going to be able to score in this league once the league figures you out.
First of all, "Bleacher Report," lol. That's the only site Hoopsworld can make fun of. Second of all, I'm a balls-to-the-wall homer, and even I don't think LaMarcus is the best PF in the league. Top 5? Certainly. Would I trade him for any other PF in the league? Hell no. Third of all, Aldridge has improved on at least one specific facet of his game during every off-season in his career, and he did so by choosing to focus on that specific facet and bust his ass. I fully expect him to do that this off-season. Fourth of all, GO BLAZERS!
