The most disgusting injury I've seen since Joe Theisman. Wow. I'm not going to post the video, because it makes me sick to my stomach.
His career is most likely over. Obviously you can come back from it, but like Shaun Livingston he'll probably never be the same. Sad because he was a good player.
...I didn't see it happen, but I just looked it up That's a tough break for Kevin Ware (no pun intended)! VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED:
I'm not gonna watch it. I've seen the Livingston video and it's not something I need to see again. Feel bad for the kid though.
I've always wondered why we see this kind of thing so much in basketball. I think it's because a lot of these guys have so little actual muscle on their legs. I remember Tracy McGrady had legs that looked like twigs. The only time you see a football player's leg snap in half is when a helmet goes through it.
This was easily more gruesome than Livingston IMO. I saw the live replay (they showed it at least once before they decided never to show it again, ever lol). I've seen some stuff like it in MMA so I think that prepared me for it but still pretty fuggin cringe worthy. Hard to predict the future for the guy. Obviously the leg is broken, but it was broken halfway down his lower leg. If there's no ligament damage then maybe they can get the leg to heal well and he'll be ok?
Just landed here in SLC and have been reading everything about it...... I refuse to watch. When Greg went down the 2nd time and then Joel a little after that..... I find the injury, cue it up and had somebody else do the replay. I don't like watching that kind of shit. The only reason I saw Thiesmans injury was because it was in the opening sequence of that movie! Sent from HCPs Baller-Ass iPhone 5.......FAMS!
Yeah, but you don't see the players with big beefy legs shattering their bones. It's gotta have some affect that they don't have much muscle around their bones and, as you said, they're jumping up and down.
I don't want to watch it, but my thought was that this sounds different than Livingston's fall (that I watched). Livingston looked like his lower leg was pointing a different direction right at the knee, tearing up his knee in many terrible ways. They said this was a broken leg, severely broken and gruesome, but is there ligament damage?
