Not wanting to do something doesn't equal not being able to do something. You guys keep saying the player "can't" do anything. Bull. Fucking. Shit. And obviously he should be fired for this, ***got is a no-no word, and throwing balls at players' heads is just odd.
I think he should be fired. Nate raises some good points. What if the player was gay? What if the player was effeminate? What if the player is a decent human being and offended by this language? He comes across as an animal. This is worse than the Bobby Knight videos if you ask me. If it is not worse, it is pretty close. The AD is deplorable too. This kind of conduct is not acceptable.
Well obviously, there a very few things that absolutely 'can't be done'. The point is: if I were a college basketball that worked my ass off to get to the Rutgers program, I wouldn't let a misbehaving coach push me out of it. Thus the rock and the hard place.
He should be fired, not for being tough, but for being violent, and for using derogatory language. A coach, teacher, priest, principal, scout leader, or anyone leading children needs to know that they need to find another way to communicate ones message, other than via violence or bigotry. Simple. I don't think this means that Mike Rice Jr. is the devil, or a bad person, but he is someone who behaved in a way not fitting a leader of youth. If it was one instance, then perhaps a warning or temp suspension would be sufficient, but given the repeated nature of the offenses, he should be fired.
