Poor entrance scores. Not a problem for Derrick since they paid someone to take the test for him!

I would not be surprised that Reggie thinks if it was not for that injury, he coulda made it. Either way, he does not want Derrick to make the same "mistakes" he did. Om the test scores front. On the injury front. Probably on a lot of other fronts too.

Its kind of frustrating to think that this guy is in control of Derrick, but, OTOH, I can see how he's trying hard to still be a good big brother and take care of his little brother. Derrick's support system and Derrick's talent of course got him where he is today.

It's one thing to be protective of your little brother. It's another to live vicariously through him. I sure hope it's the former.

I'd imagine its been a "Team Rose" situation for many, many years over there with a strong support staff involved. I think from Derrick's perspective, its served him pretty well.

Reggie's comments a couple months ago were out of turn, but let's be honest, he's not exactly a corporate communications department. I think the important thing there is that it hasn't really happened again. They don't seem stupid and out of control.

Rose's rep has been mainly hurt by the leak of "medically cleared" IMO (which was done by a professional organization) and him not having slick answers when the press hounds him about when he's coming back. "Only God Knows" isn't really what the fans want to hear.

Team Rose has been around long before the Bulls gave a crap about Derrick Rose and will be along long after. By and large they seem like OK people to me.

As far as posse's go, team Rose could be a lot worse. Derrick's been remarkably grounded in his career thus far, and team Rose seems more about protection than exploitation.

IIRC, Derrick's whole family has been extremely protective of him his whole life because it was seen from an early age that his basketball talents were their ticket out of the ghetto.

It could also be seen that he comes from a fairly solid support team that wanted what is best for him. Not just a meal ticket.
