Why would they lose their scholarship? Rice was already fired.

THIS is how you handle a coach who wants to yank your scholarship

They're coming out in his defense SINCE he was fired.

A handful of players don't speak for every player.

Fact is I'd bet money that players were afraid to say anything because they would fear losing their scholarship, thus they're stuck in a situation they truly hate with a man/coach they despise.

    Similar to an abusive relationship.

Fact is they came out since he was fired and defended him.

Your analogy is not relevant to this situation.

And there may well be players who play for coach K who want a more military-like environment, too.

Or they knew how to handle his tirades.

    It's very relevant.

No doubt there were players who felt like they were stuck in the situation and feared losing their scholarship, thus they stayed and took the abuse.

The Coach K part made me laugh. Get out of here with that.

Coach K went to West Point to train to be an officer in the army. I'm sure he knows a thing or two about a military-like environment.

I doubt he thinks what Mike Rice Jr did is acceptable in college basketball.

Fact is 5 others players have transferred in the last year, and the team isn't very good this year, or any year.

Are the players who left defending him?

Technically yes, but this is what he said

Easy to say if you're not the one having a basketball fired at your head, isn't it?

On a different note, Jay Mohr made a good point today about the AD's resignation. Check out this sentence from Robert Barchi's statement today:

So the University President is informed that the head basketball coach is on tape shoving, insulting, throwing balls at, and generally abusing his players, and he makes no effort to actually watch the tape, in order to actually discern the level of the offense. Then, when the whole thing blows up 4 months later, the coach (who went to anger management) gets fired, the AD (who actually levied a suspension and a fine) is forced out, but the President (who took no corrective action) keeps his job.

I guess ignorance really is bliss.

Judge transferred TO Rutgers, it says. PapaG was saying did anyone who left Rutgers defend him.

Hey bud, you never replied to me in the Grizz game thread when you cracked on me about a post and sarcastically said I should do work with the NBA........remember. Then I informed you that on my last trip to Atlanta, I actually went in and did some work with them ironically. And actually this summer, I might be doing some work on a show with those guys. Kinda' interesting because see, you were trying to crack on me always saying I bring nothing to the forum and don't know shit about hoops, where as I am most likely going to make a ton of cash this summer doing just that....... giving my opinion about the game. Just checking if you had heard about this...... because I quoted and replied to you about it about 4 times and nothing.....crickets. Anyway, let me know what you think about me being paid by the league BECAUSE of my vast amount of knowledge of the game.

I "cracked" on you for stating the obvious that Memphis is in playoff mode right now. No shit they are.

Get over yourself and stop derailing this thread with your agenda against me. Take your shit to a different thread or something.
