    If we go 3-8 as you say, the Lakers would have to go 8-3 to pass us. That ain't happening. Lakers are proven garbage.

    The L*kers have played 42 games so far and are 17-25 (.405). Most people are guessing to make the playoffs the 8 seed in the west will be around 45 wins. Which mean the Lakers would have to go 28-12 (.700) the rest of the way. And this would be to just squeak into the 8th seed. And on top of that Im sure they dont exactly hold a lot of tie breakers at this point which it even worse for them.

    Looking at the rest of their schedule at some the tough games, they have games:

    vs OKC,
    @Boston,
    @Brooklyn,
    @Miami,
    vs LAC,
    vs Boston,
    vs PDX,
    @Denver,
    @OKC,
    vs Chicago,
    @Indiana,
    @GSW,
    vs Memphis,
    @ LAC,
    @PDX,
    vs GSW,
    vs SAS
    and finish the season vs Houston.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/team/schedule/_/name/lal/los-angeles-lakers

    Thats 18 tough games. So if they got lucky and went .500 in those 18 "tough" games then they still would have to win 19 other games in their other 22 games (.863). Not. Going. To. Happen. Im sure im not telling you guys something you dont already know but to see the math was shocking.

    BTW, their remaining schedule is 19 home, 21 road (including a 7 game road trip).

    the best, most enjoyable part of watching this Lakers team collapse, is that they're pretty much stuck with 3 of the players for another season after this one, AND they have no bench AND they traded away 2 of their next 3 first round draft picks.

    Including one that could very well be a top 5 pick.

    I remember being upset that they traded for Howard, now it's funny (although Bynum being out would've been worse for them). But I don't remember thinking that trading for Nash was going to be a huge benefit for them. He's completely the wrong PG for that team.

    And Gasol not only isn't being used properly, but he's aging/injured AND still has another year on his contract. While he could be a good player on a lot of teams, not at 19 million. And I don't know if the Lakers will take back a contract longer than 1 or 2 years for him and I'm not so sure they'll get anything of value for him.

    They'll have to take back on a bad contract if they want to trade that bad contract.

    Hollinger's Playoff Odds have them at 18.5% chance to make the playoffs.

    And that is probably being liberal with the odds in my opinion.

    All I can say is (and, actually, I kinda hate to admit it, because they're my 2nd most hated team), GO JAZZ!!!

    We basically have the ROY in Damian Lillard. He is one part of the foundation that'll make our team a perpetual success. All smiles for that! :cheers:

    We WERE four games ahead of the Lakers. None of what I said was untrue. I wasn't predicting the future. I was enjoying the present which was wonderful. When the Blazers have a better record than the Lakers, you have to enjoy it. And I did. Those were the days.

    OKC is now tied with SAS for 1st in the West. I hope OKC keeps 1st. I think they are a far worse matchup for the Lakers then SAS would be (although both teams should beat the Fakers).

    Pops is semi-"tanking" because he likes the match up with the Rockets much, much more.
