What was the other major movie filmed on the Rogue River other than 'River Wild'? Also, did anyone know that 'Stand By Me' was filmed in Eugene?
The Goonies, Kindergarten Cop, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, Short Circuit, Come See the Paradise, and Free Willy I and II were filmed in Astoria. The Hunted was filmed in Portland, although I've never actually watched it because the reviews were so bad and it tanked at the box office.
How about My Own Private Idaho as well? That was filmed in PDX. Also, Thumbsucker was filmed in Beaverton, and shot some scenes at a house that was literally a block away from the one my wife and I lived in at the time.
All of the scenes from Thumbsucker that were in the high school were Tualatin High School, where I went.
Just saw Sometimes A Great Notion on Netflix the other day. I assume that was filmed in Oregon. Very good film.
I didn't know that. I lived in Beaverton at the time and our neighborhood was overrun with production trucks. They also filmed at Cedar Hills Crossing.
Speaking of Ken Kesey, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest was filmed in Salem, according to Wikipedia. Best film ever made in Oregon.
What was that movie where the chic was deaf and her friend was the murderer? I remembered she would job in pdx.
Rooster Cogburn was filmed partially on the Rogue River and partially on the Dechutes. There is a scene that takes place floating past my old Steelhead fishing spot!
