They're both super-skinny, true. Brewer is taller and more athletic and more of a runner and defender. Barton can create more and is tricksier on offense. I like Barton. I think he could be part of a productive bench unit if paired with a PG who really went after it on defense. Certainly he's been one of the few reasons to watch during this losing streak. He can be pretty maddening but he's always working and active. I'd written him off totally a couple of weeks ago, but now I'd be happy to see him back.
He's given a longer leash than he usually would be. And in a lot of these games the Blazers have been down big. I'm not saying it's all meaningless. I don't think it means too much, though.
This just sounds like the same kind of excuse they're making about Dame only having big numbers because he's playing 38 mpg.
No. We lost those games. Anyone can put up those numbers in a losing situation like that. Someone has to score. I say wave goodbye to him. We can do better.
What about all the games we win when he scores 20-30? It's not like Barton has scored 30+. Learn the game, then post.
Oh dude, learn the game. Barton has never scored 30+ so it doesn't compare. When Damian plays well 20+, we win a lot of the time. Also, don't insult five your olds. I know lots of smart 5 year olds?
I'm coming around on Barton. He's got a ways to go. But a serviceable player picked at #40? I'll take it.
Its always funny to me how myopic some Blazer fans can be. Like 21 and 22 year olds are as good now as they'll ever be.... Yawn.
