If I had to guess which Stanford 7' twins sported a gay member, I would have picked Lopez over Collins for sure. Girl names and transvestite voices... Just goes to show how little you really know about someone.

That's interesting. I always wondered if personality traits were divvied up when the egg splits. I've known a few sets of twins, some identical and some fraternal, and I've always noticed that one seemed more masculine than the other. Maybe not necessarily gay and straight, but maybe a little more sensitive if that makes sense.

I just find it sad that a man makes an announcement that he is attracted to other men and it makes national headlines. Meanwhile, police in California have removed an infant from his parents, at their home, without a warrant, because an M.D. was offended that they wanted a second opinion on whether the infant should have heart surgery. Our priorities are all messed up. Guess how much coverage the second item got?

Interesting world we live in. Tim Tebow gets mocked for his Christian beliefs, while Jason Collins gets held up as some kind of role model for saying he is a homosexual.

I know. This is like the biggest "sports news" story of the day. Bigger than moving the Queens to Seattle. (Sorry, Shaq, couldn't resist! :) )

More power to him. It's a lot tougher for a man to come out than a woman, and a lot tougher for a male athlete than a woman athlete. It's true this makes him somewhat of a leader in this matter. Like you, maxie, I don't care one bit about his private life. I do admire his courage, though.

I think in this day and age, those athletes who have nasty comments should be educated enough on PR and social media to keep their thoughts to themselves. I have no doubt however their are plenty of macho men who are uncomfortable about it, whether they are foolish enough to broadcast it or not.

Call me uncharitable, but I'm wondering if your description of the case does it full justice.

This is a much bigger deal than Griner.

This news makes me very happy, according to ABM that'd mean I'm probably gay too.

Don't worry, Shooter, Chris Broussard's got your back (in a totally not-gay way):

That line's either an intentional, albeit old-fashioned slur, or... weird.

Annnnnnnnd ESPN will fire him shortly. What a moron. That's his opinion, and he's welcome to it, but when he's representing such a huge corporate machine as Disney (ESPN), he will shortly find out that they do not enjoy being at the center of a huge PR disaster. Bye bye Chris.

The sad thing is that I'm sure many NBA players feel exactly the same way that he does. Still, I will be surprised if ESPN doesn't fire him.

I guess it is a shame that we won't know if this "Bible says such and such" stuff is legit until we die and at that point we can't tell anyone whether they should let it shape their opinions or not.
