So you're saying there isn't science in the bible, and instead it's just a nice story. Got'cha. ;]

Never said that, but it sounds like you're expecting some 30 volume encyclopedia on how everything works instead of what's actually important, which is in the Bible. God can create a world and let us explore and discover things, which we have and still are.

I'm beginning to think people on this board are all having a laugh with an inside joke that some of us aren't in on.

Yeah tell me about it! I mean Communist Russia, China and other communist societies (Practicing ATHEISTS) are great examples of the people being free from the tyranny of religion and all peaceful and shit!

Bullshit? Just using the demographic of people in the dark ages, with 90% of them unable to read sways you closer to my argument.

They aren't unable to read because they lack the ability. It's just nobody taught them. We aren't talking about growing wings and flying here. It's something humans have proven to be capable of knowing.

The original point of Sly's post seems to be mocking.

That is 100% theoretical... It is known that they weren't able to read. That we know. So you mean to tell me that you know for sure that they are just as capable as they are now because you just do? GOTCHA

    Honest question mags,

Do you think there's other civilizations in the universe?

So I'm curious how you interpret the Bible. I'm not going to lie and say I've read the whole thing cover to cover. Does the Bible account for other civilizations on other planets in any way?

If you really want to know my personal interpretation; I think the Bible is what's right for us. I think what's in the Bible is for our "Earth" to know. I also belief that the explanations in the Bible are worded for the people at the time. Why hasn't it been updated? I think it's our foundation and our future is what we make of it. I look at the Bible as my blue-print. I can choose to follow the blue-print exactly, or I may make my own additions in the future.

The one thing I will not sway from is Jesus Christ. That is the one thing that I 100% belief is accurate and from that point, I belief he lives through me. The rest is gravy.

Oh forgot to answer about the aliens.... I believe that we may never see aliens in this "Human Earth's" lifetime. From what I know today and traveling only at the speed of light, I just don't see how we can travel to places 100 billion light years away to discover life. So I see it as "trimming the fat" per-say.

Bah, I can't find it, but this reminds me of a great webcomic I saw about a year or two ago. Humans and Aliens meet and they start talking and the humans say "We would like to tell you about Jesus. He came to us 2000 years ago and told us his teachings." The alien says "Oh yeah, he was so proud of our society he visits us every year and brings us presents."
