On purpose tanking was certainly part of it. But evaluating our five rookies was legitimately worthwhile.
This (and part 1) was Quick's finest work in his career in my opinion: http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...zers_and_free_agency_part_ii_neil_olshey.html
He would be stupid to but rumors are he is going to do just that. He thinks he can opt out and still get a nice big contract.
I really find it hard to believe that Iguodala would opt out of a contract that will pay him 15.9 MILLION DOLLARS next year. If he did, it would only be because he knew for certain that he would get a nice long contract that extends far past his useful NBA life and paid him around $10M per year. Still want him? He's an upgrade over Matthews (although probably not in 3 point shooting) but is he THAT much of an upgrade?
if he wants to go to a team he clicks with or wants to play in a city like Atlanta or Houston that has cap space hoop fam
I think he will opt out and I also think he's a significant upgrade overall compared to Matthews. That pure athleticism is huge in today's NBA.
How does this help us? Sorry I think igs is not the answer. He didn't lead Denver to a first round win. Obviously we need someone that is consistent and leads his club. That man ain't igs
We're not going to get someone better than Lillard and Aldridge. They are our franchise. We're going to get someone talented who complements them and Batum defensively. Iggy is one that makes sense, but I would agree with you there may be bigger fish.
