Kevin Garnett may undergo offseason surgery to shave down bone spurs in his ankles, according to sources affiliated with the Boston Celtics.

Two of Garnett’s teammates privately speculated he is considering retirement.

"I have no clue," Doc Rivers admitted. "I was positive last year [he was coming back]. I'm not as sure this year."

I don't think he would bother if he wasn't playing next year.

Don't think that's really that much of a tell... I mean, you think he'd live the rest of his life with bad ankles? He'd probably get them fixed after retirement anyway.

The biggest tell of KG coming back is just his attitude. Everyone talks about Kobe's competitiveness, passion, and attitude, but KG rivals him in every one of those categories. I guess it may be lost in the mix because the guy's an (unlisted) true seven footer, and he hasn't been as effective offensively as Kobe has, but this is a guy that I see playing until he absolutely can't play anymore.

KG has looked after himself over the years. His last big injury was in 2009 when he hurt his knee. Other then that...he's been fine for the past few years. The only question about KG is what team he will be fighting for. He is viciously loyal, but him in a losing environment at this stage of his career might not be an option. I don't think he will retire a Celtic.
