Wow. Puts two in the water on 17 while tied with Tiger, and then puts his tee shot in the water on 18. Tiger is so far inside that guy's head.
Tiger Woods wins his 78th victory in 300 PGA starts. Unreal... This was an extra special meltdown. It came out of nowhere, and he actually got booed when finally making it to the 17th green.
Ahhh..... Well, he may not be a d-bag, but he sure appears to be at least misguided......like his errant shots attest to.
I don't think Tiger is in his head. Sunday morning the two had to finish up round three and after all the verbal jabs, he played well playing with Tiger. Sergio also played pretty a good 4th round until the 17th. At one time he was three strokes behind Tiger and didn't fall apart. Sergio is a high risk high reward player. But they are high risks for a reason. He has approached this 17th green on the final round where he is in contention the same way as he did now. First time he fired right at the pin and hit the shot of the tournament to win the tournament. This time he fires at the pin to try and win the tourny and goes into the water. True to Sergio style he again shoots for the pin if he has any hope of tying Tiger. When he hit in the water again, he conceeds the tourney and aims for middle of the green. It was weird for me because I'm a huge Tiger fan. But I do love the go for it mentality (still happy two shots went into the water). If it was me with professional skills, I go for the pin (unless I need the paycheck)
Yea, those 2 battled verbally in the third round. Garcia blamed a bad shot on Woods' poor golf etiquette. Tiger responded he didn't do anything wrong but not surprised Sergio is complaining about something. Sergio then says it is better if they don't play together because they basically don't like each other and Tiger isn't the nicest guy on the tour. Tiger gets the last laugh . . . I don't think Tiger is in Sergio's head as much as Tiger is just a far superior golfer then Garcia.
We had 20 bigwigs is the truck standing over my shoulder as I did a split screen of tiger and Sergio at the exact same time! They were 75 yards away from eachother...... Sergio is full if shit trying to blame that on Tiger! Check out Golf Central tonight on the Golf Channel. They had cameras shooting behind the scenes stuff to show everybody at home what it takes to put on a tourney on TV. It's only a 7 minute piece and there might just be an HCP sighting! Sent from HCPs Baller-Ass iPhone 5...FAMS!
Shout out to : Ben Crane of Beaverton for finishing T8 and getting some air time on Sunday Jeff Maggert, 49 years of age. It is why I have changed my passion from basketball to golf . . . at my age I can still compete with the athletic 20 year olds.
Ben Crane's caddy, former Oregon golfer Joel Stock, is a friend of mine. My local course has two flags on display, one from the British Open, and one from the US Open, autographed by Ben and Joel...
