I predict in half a century, where we now use "Nixonian" to describe dishonest and thuggish behavior of a President, those in the future will use "Obamaian".

Not really. We just struck a tentative agreement for our next contract. 0% in healthcare premiums and $5 in raises over the life of the contract. That must make your blood boil.

What would your raises have been without a $0 healthcare premium?

Not sure why a $5 raise over the life of your contract would make my blood boil, but whatever.

    Probably the same.

You despise unions and the strength my union makes rubs you wrong.

Do you really see this repressive government surviving another 50 years?

I hope you aren't so naive to think that the money is just showing up out of the blue.

I don't care about the strength of your particular union. I do despise most unions because they provide inferior production at a higher price point. And, as I've said before, those who willingly join a union are admitting to themselves and their employers that they can't perform above average in the workplace.

We get production bonuses everyday if we meet our numbers and better. I usually bonus 2 hours of pay a day.

Another example of why I don't think you went to Stanford. You don't see how that correlates to your post implicating that people who join unions do so because they can't perform above average in the workplace.

It's clear you have little understanding of the purpose of unions, the absolute necessity for them in a democracy, nor the fact that the products and services they provide are typically the best in their field.

What you said doesn't contradict my statement. If a worker was confident in their ability to perform at a higher level than the rest of their colleagues, they would never opt to be compensated at the same rate, and have the majority of their compensation be based on the average production and seniority. Instead they would want the majority of their compensation to be based on their individual performance.

Or, they realize there's good pay, great benefits and great retirement in a company and they take that route. Status quo my ass.

That can all be found in non-union positions by people who really do perform at a high level. And for those, the compensation will be much, much greater instead of being kept down by the majority and average of the union.
