Days of training at our cabin in southern Oregon over the years. It's all he wants to do there anymore, to the point he gets swimmer's tail and walks around looking like he's going to take a dump at any moment.

He's smart. Very smart. I grew up with a yellow lab that was the dumbest dog in history. I've had both type of lab.

yeah..the funny thing is color means nothing..breeding, zero, I had a friend who always had at least two black labs at a time..he never had two smart ons at one time, but always had one that was special

Breeding may have something to do with it. I'm guessing the ones that are horribly inbred are more likely to be...special. Just like they are more likely to have other issues.

This. I've only had one lab, and she is very smart. But I've dealt with a lot of dumb labs over the years.

With my lab, whenever I am upset at something she did and I'm thinking," Dumb dog," it's usually me that does something dumb that leads to her behavior. Like leaving the gate wide-open so she explores for a few and comes back filthy. Or leaving a burger or piece of meat where she can reach it (like nothing is going to eat it).

haahahaha nothing like finding out the hard way that your pup really likes pizza...or if you set a frozen turkey on the ground, he may try to drag it off..

Or cheesecake! We know our dog is up to no good when it gets real quiet in the house. If he stops making noise, its cause he thinks he's being sneaky.

A friend taught his dog how to open the fridge in hopes of this. Now the dog just opens the fridge and doesn't close the door. Not so awesome. =\

I have a ~30 pound seven month-old English bulldog named Rumpelstiltskin. I also have a cat who's almost 15 and weighs around 12 pounds, I bet, named Houdini.

    I haven't had a dog in a while and Rump's super-cute but he's a handful. :) He'll probably end up around 50 pounds.
