It's more than just his APG numbers. When he wasn't scoring, he had a reputation for slacking off on defense/rebounding. He also didn't show much improvement over the course of the season...which makes me wonder about his coachability/work ethic.

I guess thats why he shot 37% from 3 when most people thought be he would be around 25%. Because he doesnt work hard.

PS nbadraft.net says he has an amazing work ethic and developed a floater.. I know it isnt the end all be all, but you know nothing about his work ethic.

Seems like Shabazz falls into the same category as the rest of our offseason moves - are we willing to take a chance on someone that may be high reward in hopes that we can take the big step to contender instead of playoff maker.

I am in agreement with you on this. When I watched him I saw a fierce competitor. He seems very intense to me. Stats do not tell the whole story and I think this is specifically true in college where different coaches are known for their "system". And although I think that Howland was a very good coach, his system was not ideal for a lot of his players. (And their stats)

I think Olshey knows what type of player Shabazz can be. Hopefully a few Euros jump into the top 9 and Shabazz drops to us. I doubt it though.

    Ross (Ireland)

    McLemore vs Oladipo?
    Chad Ford (1:44 PM)

NBA guys are leaning McLemore but I just spoke with Tim Hardaway Jr. yesterday and he had an interesting take. He played against both players this year (Oladipo twice) and said both were very tough. However, he felt Oladipo was the toughest because he could get you at both ends and you could never lose sight of him on the court.

Danny has knee issues, pushing 30, and on a big contract.

    No freaking way.

Actually, his contract expires after next season.

So would that allow us to be a player in next years free agent market? Or would other contracts eat up that cap room that Granger's expiring contract opens? Im not saying I like Granger but one year of him to allow us to be a player in what is supposed to be a good free agent market is interesting. His contract is a little over 14 million next year.

So we'd be trading our starting SG and two promising young bigs for an expiring contract with gimpy knees? I think I'll pass.

    A 17 y/o Steve Adams with Dwight.

He made Dieng look small earlier this season. Probably the best size of any C this draft.

That's way too much to give up. Otherwise I'm fine with him.

I would not be opposed to the Blazers trading up for another 1st round pick and picking him up. Seems like he's solid rebounding/defense center prospect; I'd like to see him and Leonard sharpen one another.

Wait, I don't think that came out right...

I would much rather have us picking Shabazz (a poor man's Harden) than Tim Hardaway (a poor man's Harrison Barnes)...

I don't necessarily think that we should do the trade, but seriously, LOL at "two promising young bigs."

I'm sorry that you don't see potential in Leonard and Freeland. I do.

    Factoid: Shabazz has Tourette's syndrome.

Who's that older guy they usually have on talkin ball? I think he primarily covers college hoops.

Last year he predicted the blazers should take Lillard months before the draft.

His last time on a few months ago he made a similar 'suggestion' with Steven Adams.
