Yes, the head of the IRS lying repeatedly in front of a House hearing, and a growing scandal that now has IRS agents telling they were ordered by their superiors to target specific groups, is a 'circle jerk'. At times I wonder about the IQ of the average Democrat voter.
So typical. Ad hominem attacks. Do you have a worthwhile and defensible opinion that is rooted in some semblance of reality, or are you just a jerk?
That's a shame. I don't believe much of anything those groups stand for, but I don't believe it is ok for the incumbent president to use the IRS to jerk them around. Go Blazers
Umm maybe we're misunderstanding each other. But my point was that, political groups should not have tax exempt status if their primary purpose is politics.
You must be a republican. Because we agree. Govt. shouldn't be in a position it helps itself get reelected or harms others' chances.
I guess we are misunderstanding each other. Tax exempt status exists, whether we agree with it or not. I don't have an issue with the IRS questioning whether an organization qualifies for tax exempt status. That's their job, and it should be done even-handedly. I do have a problem when the IRS selectively enforces the rules pertaining to that tax exempt status, based on whether the administration considers the group friend or foe. How do you feel about the IRS making decisions on who gets what quality of health care based on whether the person is conservative or liberal? Go Blazers
Seriously? You don't think politics were involved when they targeted conservative groups for the tax exempt status? Politics shouldn't matter there, either....but they did. What makes you so confident that all of that thinking is going away and politics won't continue to play into the decisions the IRS makes? Go Blazers
Holding up a group's application for 3 years and subjecting them to round after round of intrusive, prejudiced, and irrelevent questions is not "taking a close look," it is intimidation, harassment, and denial of basic rights.
