Either that or she has Alzheimer's. Today: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/pel...e-health-insurance-yes-you-will-have-increase Last June: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57464444/pelosi-repeal-of-health-care-act-unrealistic/
She's not necessarily lying. She said she doesn't remember saying it. That could be true. She could have forgotten saying anything. That being said..... I mean, it's clear the view has changed. So..... what caused that change? Were we all lied to (that would be shocking....SHOCKING.... if true)? Was she uneducated on the matter (also, quite shocking if true)? What?
Never could understand how you could force the insurance companies to cover the uninsurable and reduce everyone's premiums. Perhaps the truth is rising to the top.
How do people keep voting this person into office? If I lived in the bay area, I would wear a paper bag over my head. Go Blazers
This isn't surprising. The entire marketing campaign for Obamacare was built on lies, deception and more lies.
I don't see a lie here. Again, pin the fail on the donkey. I'm sure she believed rates would drop. There are rates for people with no insurance - those people choose not to seek it or pay. It isn't clear from the OP if the rates they would pay are higher or lower... It's also not a done deal. Rates could be much lower sometime in the future. And then, whatever was in the kool-aid she drank wore off!
I long wondered how the rates would decrease with Obamacare. I knew all along it was pure BS. So I find it funny that politicians were touting the lower rates, and now they're backpedaling. What I don't find so funny is that rates are increasing 3-24% in 2014, depending on your provider and a few other variables.
To "lie" implies she knew she was making a false statement. Maybe she should have sought the advice of an astrologer so she could know with full certainty what would happen to the rates.
All BB is saying is that she could have lied (in that quote). He's not saying she did lie, but she could have. Or she could have just been uninformed. I don't see how couldn't have known rates would increase, though. Insurance companies knew. Didn't the admin consult with insurance companies and do their due diligence before pushing this on the American Public? If so, the people championing it should have had the basic facts. I wouldn't be surprised if the politicians pushed Obamacare on us while knowing rates would increase, but they try to sell us on it with the positives and with lies, then months later, as the facts come out, most people have already moved on. Win-win for politicians. Plead ignorance (when it's their job to be informed on the decisions they make for us) when the facts come out later, but when the facts do come out, it's later in the game and the masses aren't really paying attention enough months later to protest.
She did know. If she didn't know the facts about the bill, she shouldn't have made the claim. Or maybe she should have used common sense and not make promises and claims that any reasonably intelligent person can see aren't true. She either a) lied b) is a moron or c) both. In any case, she shouldn't receive votes. This is like Obama's pledge to "not raise taxes by a dime". I'm sure he just didn't know he was making a false statement.
1. There's no such thing as an uninsurable person. 2. The extra cost/risk is paid by the taxpayers, not by the insurance companies.
There were a lot of people saying rates would go down, no? Were they all lying? Or just drank the same kool-aid... The evidence is the progressives think all their ideas will succeed. Like the stimulus would save jobs. The summer of recovery that never happened. War on Poverty. Public education. It's a huge difference between being stupid/wrong and lying. I think the insurance companies took advantage of the price fixes not going into effect until 2014 or whatever.
The only people saying rates would go down we're politicians selling us on Obamacareless. Don't play dumb, Denny. Don't attempt tobsell the public unless you're educated, or have proper understanding. We elected our politicians to look out for our best interests.
OK, she's a lying hag. I'm not a fan of hers or ObamaCare. I see no point in setting the record straight.
Again. I'm not saying she lied. But if she was uninformed, she shouldn't speak and she shouldn't be making decisions.
