If he could become Theo Ratliff 2.0 or perhaps Dalembert lite than he has to be strongly considered

He has a longer standing reach than Adams. I wonder why in DraftExpress he did not record any
leaping stats. Was he hurt? or did his agent tell him not to?

The knock on him is his weight and strength. is he 230 or 245? I have read both.

I don't know....... he looks pretty good to me. I would rather have him over any other center in this draft other than Len. As long as he gets big enough so he is not pushed around. I like his high post passing skills

It's like the guy's been reading my mind! He's the player I'd pick if I just had the #10. If I could be sure of getting, say, Dallas's pick as well, then I'd go Schroeder at 10, Dieng next.

He was hurt at the combine - I saw some comment about him being in a boot.

It's happened again: I've fallen in love with a prospect we almost certainly won't draft.

Mind you: I really wanted Kendall Marshall last year, and it's probably just as well we didn't get him. And I was ecstatic about Will Barton, and the jury's out.

I could see both drafting Dieng and signing Dalembert, then trying to trade Leonard.

with Leonard's offense and hopefully at least decent all around development keeping both Meyers and Gorgui could give us a nice combo at C

It's funny that Larry Sanders and Ekpe Udoh are common comparisons for Dieng, and 3RA1N1AC had this to say last year:

Udoh didn't get much PT this year, but it was precisely because he was behind Sanders, whom nobody is going to call a flop any time soon.

pretty much everyone thought sanders looked like a flop as of 7-05-12 after putting up 3/3 as a 23 year old in his second season

maybe theres hope for kendall marshall after all!

Why is #10 too high for a player that you think can be a solid NBA player, and a difference-maker?

I don't understand that thinking. This is the player to draft, but getting him at #10 is too high.

LOL. GMs miss on picks every year, and still have jobs. I think fans, working with significantly fewer resources, can miss on a few and still have opinions.

You are right it doesn't make sense. Taking Dieng at #10 seems to be a safe choice. Unless he is injury prone you have to figure he will be in the NBA for the next 10 years. Yes his up side seems low. Yes swinging for the fences and stealing a super star at 10 would be a lot more fun, But Dieng seems like a decent pick.

It is just really odd that the mocks have him so low. Most 20-24 range. Hoopsworld is the exception (11) but they are all over the place with their picks. They have us taking Giannis Adetokunbo.

I would not be upset with Dieng. Still would prefer McCollum or Shabazz though.

i think the thought is that if you can trade down and still get him then you are leaving value on the table, and that isnt that great

bu if he is #10 on your draft board, and nobody wants to trade up, just take the dude

nobody is perfect, but its like anything else, people that suck at darts and bowling still play darts or go bowling occasionally, without shame

    its something to do

Yes, and those GMs can get fired. The message board fans who make thread after thread? No so much...

But, I do enjoy it all, and without new threads, this board would die.
