It's specifically off of how he defines his tiers.

I suspect that when all is said and done there'll be a small handful of players from this draft that'll end up being Tier 2 players. And a significantly larger handful of players who'll be better than Derrick Williams (and Beal).

I agree. Because of next years draft and the bad rap this one got there will be a few players that "surprise" everyone.

God damn, that really shows how awful the "tiers" system is at accurately ranking prospects. Griffin/Wall/Davis as the only tier 1 guys in the past four years, and a bunch of solid but not stellar guys in tier 2 last year. By those examples, tier 1 looks to be no better than tier 2, and tier 3 probably has the most success stories.

I think its funny Kyrie Irving wasn't a tier 1 player, somehow.

Word is when Steven Adams arrives in town for workouts the night before, he calls the team to request they open the gym to get shots up.

I think at the time of the draft, there were some that still had questions/concerns about him. He'd only played like 10 games at Duke.

#Cavaliers have received some calls about No. 1 pick. Nothing in works at this point. Teams still doing exploratory work on players

I really hope we get the DAL pick so we can take two guys. Despite no "star talent" it sounds like this draft is indeed deep with meaningful players. I'd like to see us grab a SG (Shabazz) and a C (Dieng/Adams/Gobert...assuming Len isn't available).

Doing so would reduce cap space, but I wouldn't mind seeing a combination of Pope/Shabazz at 10 and Adams/Gobert/Dieng at 13. I just think there are too many others that are also going after that pick--and maybe allowing Dallas to trade down and still get someone they want.

I understand that it'll reduce our cap space. I'm of the opinion that there isn't a FA worth using our cap space on - it's best used in trades or on draft picks. And as long as we preserve some amount of space for a lopsided (albeit, less lopsided) trade then I'm fine using the majority of it on obtaining additional draft picks. I'm not sure what Shawn Marion makes (and haven't bothered to look...maybe I should), but I'm assuming we'd still have a few million remaining after taking his and the #13 pick into consideration. And with Marion's contract expiring that either gives us an expiring contract trade chip at the deadline, or helps preserve cap space for next summer.

Sounds like CLE has a deal with the Mavs for that pick (#19/#13 swap?) -- The Cavs are targeting Karasev.

Btw, Haynes thinks Ledo has a real shot to be taken with the #10?

He has really shot up draft boards. He has been killing people in workouts, from what I've heard. When he was predicted to be undrafted, I thought he was a lotto talent but there were so many questions with him not playing last year and maturity issues that I thought his ceiling was early second round. Didn't think anyone would draft him in the 1st with him not playing. Guy has so much talent, though.

Steven Adams is a good-looking kid. I'm assuming he's at least part Maori.

Now that the season is over, I'm really looking forward to the draft.
