NBA Legion @MySportsLegion - Greg Oden's agent Mike Conley confirms that Oden is highly interested in joining the Heat this summer, says Heat are interested as well.
I think Oden would be better off joining the Cavs. If he shows anything at all it would help entice Lebron in rejoining the Cavs after his contract is up next season. Ah fuck it, what do I care what he does.
I think the Russian/Jay-Z might just go for it - it seems like they're trying to put together a "big 3" to be part of the MIA/NYK/(BOS) conversation in the East. I'm not familiar with MIL, but I just have the impression that they'd like love to have a "big name" on the roster. I don't think CHI would do it, but if I were Riley I'd certainly make the call.
I doubt any of those teams would want to do those trades blue9, they would have to pay significantly more money for a significantly worse player. Makes no sense.
Dumb GMs do dumb trades all the time. I agree, Bosh isn't that great a player - though I wouldn't say he's significantly worse than either Lopez or Sanders (Noah, yes). When he was with TOR people thought he was the shit. BKN seems like a team that makes dumb moves, and adding another "big name" to the team seems like something they'd consider - money is of little importance to the Russian. But what do I care? I don't want the Heat to get better!
I really don't care much anymore. Sure, Greg, join the Heat. Get a ring. It seems to be the thing to do for players to just angle to get picked up by the 5-7 "haves" teams in the NBA. The rest of us get screwed, but hey, who cares? ABC ratings are through the roof! That's all that matters. There's the Globetrotters and there's the Generals. As long as you are honest with yourself about which one your team is, it makes watching the NBA more palatable.
I wish Oden nothing but the best. I think at this point he just wants to be a contributor to something, so Miami could be great for him for a year. If he is able to play a role that will be a hell of a stage to display what skills you can bring to the table. They need a center presence more than any team in the league and have a very positive atmosphere in the locker room; it really makes a lot of sense. I think Brooklyn would go for some type of Bosh-Lopez trade. I'm not sure Miami would want to break up a member of the "big 3" even if he scores 0 in game 7. With Lebron and Wade being free agents in a year the team is only going to make a move if those guys endorse them. With all the euphoria of just winning a title, the more i think about it I'd be very shocked if Miami trades away Bosh.
I am still an Oden fan. I want him to succeed, he certainly has had his share of injuries, maybe the tape and string will hold this time.
Screw Greg oden. Let him sign with the heat. Dalembert wants to go there too. If I was Miami I would take most of the season from Sammy d instead of 10 games or so from oden before he gets injured again
All that Miami has to offer is the mini-MLE of $3.2m, which I imagine they'll try to use on Chris Anderson. They can't get Oden any other way, can they? Vet minimum, I guess? They have 12 players under contract for next season, and are already well above the cap.
I think Oden joining the Neat this summer is pretty shrewd planning on his part. There are no games or practices in the summer so he can just hang at the nightclub and collect his money like he always does.
If they want Oden and can't sign both him and Birdman I would really want the Birdman for the Blazers.
How anyone could be an Oden fan at this point is beyond me. Must be like those women who can't leave an abusive relationship. What is there to be a fan of? His binge drinking?
