Weak era? That's nuts. There were less euros to pad your stats against, no zone defenses to clog the lane, hand check rules that today are FTAs (shots with nobody guarding you), real centers on every team, and lack of flagrant foul rules.
But James did it against a better league, a better defense, in a better defensive era. Jordan played in one of the softest post-seasons in recent history, with a league 111 offensive rating. And Jordan was worse, I think you're missing the point. Jordan wasn't given open jumpers, he was given the most efficient shot in the game. LAY-UPS.
About this, it makes me laugh when people say LeBron can guard 1-5 Yeah, when the center is freaking Tiago Splitter or some other terrible scrub. You didn't see him slowing Roy Hibbert down (who played like Wilt chamberlain that series). The 1-5 claim needs to stop
Yes I'm sure Jordan was given uncontested lay-ups like LeBron was given uncontested shots Despite what you say you and I both know you clearly don't believe this. I'm letting it slide.
So re-state my position: Durant MIGHT be a better jumpshooter if LeBron goes on a deep playoff run and Durant chokes. You look weak there. In fact LeBron is a better jumpshooter than many of Dirk and Durant's seasons, was Jordan ever at that level jumpshooting?
Ahem, this is a bad thing for your era, if you're trying to make an intelligent point. And worse advanced statistics defensively, nice try.
Nice, the guy destroyed his own position in that post. 1) Lacking zone defense is a bonus for me, not you. 2) LeBron does defend Tim Duncan and Roy Hibbert sometimes, he fronts them and clinches titles see game 7.
1) Jordan played worse, you have no counter. 2) Jordan can't get to the paint, ouch, in a weaker era. 3) Jordan is not LeBron or Durant as a jumpshooter 4) If Durant chokes early he'll preserve the jumpshooting edge. 5) You used basketball-reference, the site that countered most of your positions. Looks like I win, 4-1.
The layup is the best shot in the game, sorry not the same thing. If Jordan was so good he would have pounded softer defenses. LeBron was given the NYK treatment against Indiana, so you lose the argument.
You cherry-picked Jordan's worst series. Should we do the same for LeBron? You still ignore the fact LeBron was left wide open and pretend the same thing was done to Jordan. You're clearly wrong. "Jordan can't get to the paint" - Prove it Show me stats that over their first 10 years that say LeBron is a better mid-range hooter than Jordan. Wild Durant claim, clearly reeling from being wrong. Yeah, you win the award for wild claims and no substance. Show me something. Start by looking up the mid-range numbers.
No I didn't. I used only Jordan's prime statistics. Dude I've thought up all your arguments before you even post them, they are uneducated. Ahem, you kept saying Game 4 was bad, you look foolish. Look up some of this stuff before you talk trash. Look at the first post of this thread, and then look at 1992. It is easy to prove. A strawman, Jordan is merely inferior overall not necessarily a worse jumpshooter, yet. LeBron is more efficient in everything in his prime, pwnage. Except FT%. Sorry I am right, you have to adjust for playoff defenses. You are desperate. Yes shooting against the Rockets is the same as against the #1 defense. LeBron's 2009 post-season and 2013 regular season are also better. Who cares, you don't understand advanced stats you lost a long time ago.
Jordan isn't a great 3 point shooter unless he uses that shortened coward line from 1995-1997. Seriously drop it, LeBron plays in a better defensive era it is amusing to me you don't realize that what the Spurs did would be illegal in 1992. LeBron faces superior defensive competition. Only someone versed in metrics would know that.
Your misuse of advanced statistics is amusing. They lowered the pitching mound and the stats for pitchers and hitters changed after that. Guys recently were hitting 60+ homers like it wasn't a big deal, thanks to steroids. Advanced stats. LOL.
Did MJ need to desert the team that drafted him, join another allstar on another team, recruit another all star and gather a group of coat-tail-hangers to win his titles? Kind of like Laker fans. When their team stops winning, the rats desert the sinking ship to go sniff new jockstraps. Go Blazers
http://bkref.com/tiny/fLPZN http://bkref.com/tiny/ZTKEY Yeah you lose, a washed-up wade and often injured Bosh are terrible.
Bosh and Wade were perenial all stars when James slinked into town looking for a way to finally win it all. They have been all stars every year James has played in Miami. Why didn't your mancrush take his own team to a title? MJ carried HIS team to six titles. He didn't need to go find help to get it done. Go Blazers
Well, there were slightly different scenarios. MJ played in the 3rd largest market in the country, and had a top-50 player of all time alongside him from his 4th year. Lebron played in Cleveland--where nobody actuallly wants to go--and was abandoned by the best teammate he ever had there (Boozer). I wonder how things might have been different if Boozer had re-signed with the Cavs.
Yeah thanks P. It doesn't matter how famous your teammates are if they play terrible or hurt their knees. Kobe Bryant has horrible statistics in the playoffs in his prime. Aside from Cleveland being full of garbage, Miami has only one star on all cylinders.
