Maybe because of this move and our picks, we broadcast some summer league games!

Was definitely excited to hear this. I was hoping we would take him on. There's a lot of potential and I really believe that he just needs time and the right situation. Just imagine if he were to fulfill all that potential he was labeled with. He could really add to the amount of assets we have.

It would be sad if they don't. It would be the first year since...... the early 2000s (?) that we haven't broadcast something from SL. I remember it was just Wheels down there on the radio. Actually I remember when it was just box scores and that was all we had.

Didn't Mike and Mike just do play by play here in Portland off the satellite feed from Vegas last year?

Yep, and that feed from Vegas is very expensive

Didn't the league disapprove of the team broadcasting their own game from Vegas?

Random reactions to reading this thread:

Ordinary 2nd-round picks and 19-year-old Euros may be a dime a dozen, but we gave up starters on two of the top-5 Euro teams, each aged about 22-23. On the other hand, I had read that the Greek's agent had asked Olshey to shop him around for a bigger city.

Robinson is listed at 6-9, but he's 6-8 3/4 in shoes (per DraftExpress), 3 inches shorter than Aldridge. One rounds his height up; the other down.

Robinson is reunited with college teammate Withey. With McLemore, that was some team.

Are the Blazers planning on doing the same thing again this year or will they send everyone down there to broadcast?

Not that I'm aware of. Teams like the celtics and Knicks cover every one of their games every summer

Neither! We as fans would just have to hope that NBATV would pick up a couple of our games,

HCP needs to head down there, Mags rent a video truck, and give Storyteller and Kingspeed a mic do analysis from their seats courtside.

I think a Mixum & Kingspeed play by play would be fascinating

If by "fascinating" you actually mean, "extremely annoying" then yes... I agree. I couldn't hit the mute button fast enough.

Lmao!!!! You don't even want me to give a play by play. There would be a lot of cussing and probably homerism at its finest. I'm talking a lot of screaming!

Because they just needed enough to offer Howard max. No sense in getting rid of asik until they get Howard.

Portland did them a favor; so they still have a decent team if they strike out.

So True. Hopefully a fresh opportunity will light a fire under him. Could he be the Manimal we missed out on?

In Oshley I trust, well played sir, well played.

Crikey, we now have 9 first or second year players on a roster that's not quite full. We almost have enough for our own rookie-sophomore game! LMA and Batum could be the coaches.
