Call me stunned. I never imagined that McMillan would be forced to take an Assistant Coaching position, but anything can happen in the fickle, unpredictable NBA. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/pacers-add-mcmillan-coaching-staff-205123420--nba.html
Good situation for Nate. Lot of expectations for Indiana. Vogel may not make it to the end of the year if those expectations are not met.
Good point, but it still seems like an embarrassing comedown for "Mr. Sonic," who was revered in Seattle and widely regarded as one of the best coaches in the NBA in Portland.
"Forced?" Looks like a pretty damned comfy position to me. Working for KP again, coaching a pretty danged good team, and sitting in the on-deck circle should the current coach leave/get fired. Nate has too much dignity and character to bother worrying about being "embarrassed" taking an assistant job.
Dude, got beat out for a coaching job by Maurice freakin Cheeks. He deserves to be sitting next to a real head coach on the side lines.
