They have a ton of cap space and not a peep. What direction are they going?

Nobody wants to go there. They thought they were going to get Howard and CP3.

But woj leaks just interest. Not a peep. There isn't a single rumor of them even trying to get anyone.

Didn't the GM used to be Sonic GM under Wally Walker?

His only goal is to save money and slowly kill fan interest.

They signed Millsap and are rumored to be after Ellis.

They resigned Korver, got Millsap on a very good deal, and from what I've heard are waiting to see what Teague gets offered in RFA so as not to outbid themselves and end up overpaying to keep him. They've lost some depth, but the 2 draft picks from this year should help with that.

Basically they've just let other teams overpay for some of their guys, which is smart IMHO. And they've still got enough room to go after whomever is left on the pile when the other teams with space get done spending.

I have no inside source, but my best guess is ATL had a list of free agents on which they were going to splurge. When they didn't get them, they pulled back and waited for the market to clear.

They're not trying to compete this year. My guess is they'll re-sign Teague at a reasonable price, perhaps trade Horford for future picks and/or younger talent and look to next year.

It's a good year to rebuild because this next draft is supposed to be strong. Also, they can reload and try for the 2014 free agency as well. Less teams to compete with and better players available.
